I currently have the R1 Springs and they are not good for towing and I am needing something that is a little better I plan on getting bags, but also looking at the R2 springs does anyone have experience with them

I have the R2 springs and you'll still want some sort of load support when towing heavier to keep from going nose high. I was running sumo springs, but they're weren't quite long enough so I recently swapped to the Thuren LCS for towing our 40ft Jayco. Can't say enough good things about the LCS - When empty the boogie bumps ride better than the sumos and when loaded the LCS bump is much longer than a sumo.

I was thinking about the Firestone air bags with cradles to keep all the suspension travel and still be able to air up if I needed to. Haven’t heard much the sumos/lcs or boogie bumps

While I know most don't have airbag problems, it seems the ones I've heard of/known of are some of the local guys driving on the same gravel roads I do. I just really didn't want to deal with worrying about it so I was going to do full travel bags if I did airbags, but I couldn't get over the price when you add boogie bumps and on-board air. The LCS is a very similar idea, but instead of a quick change bag, its a quick change load support that's much bigger/badder than a sumo spring. There's also way less ways in which it can fail.

Sumos work great on stock trucks that tow frequently or upfront with a heavy ranch hand bumper, but once you start adding some lift they need spacers to work as load supports or fine tuning for progressive bump stop duty.

Do you have a picture of your truck loaded down with the lift and the lcs on, just curious on how the truck looks when it’s loaded and, how the ride quality is when loaded. I appreciate all the insight you got to give

I don't, but I can try to remember to snag one in a few weeks after I'm done with business travel. Mine won't be an apples to apples comparison since I have the Thuren 2.75" front springs instead of the Carli 3.25" as noted in my signature. I wanted slightly more rake for towing/hauling as well as I keep my badlands jack, tools, and recovery gear under my diamondback so I didn't want super soft springs like the R1 or the Thurens.

When I tow the smaller stuff (stuff you could tow with any half ton) I typically don't need the LCS blocks with the R2 springs - The R2 springs do seem to perform about like the Carli testing. I only put in the LCS blocks for heavier trailers (stuff I wouldn't want to tow with a half ton) and honestly they ride great with a load on them IMO.

Carli Testing (with 3.25" Fronts)
