Cargo camera adding after the fact 2019 ram 2500

So they actually make different wiring harness for each model?
Yes, depending on options, there are multiple different harnesses used (body, dash, instrument panel, etc). The connector and most of the wiring for the cargo camera option is part of the headliner harness, which is glued to the headliner. So, you can’t buy just the headliner harness that has the cargo cam wiring, you have to buy the whole headliner. That’s why when guys add the cargo camera after the fact, they just build a custom harness for it that bypasses all the factory wiring in-line connectors, and go straight to the radio connector.

I thought they have a template in the factory like this one shown in photo below and it will work with every single model they just don't use all the connectors

Template- yes. But, they do not build each harness with all the connectors for every option- far from it. For 2019-2020 HDs, there are 7 different body harnesses based on options, 21 different instrument panel harnesses, 10 different right chassis harnesses, 8 different left chassis harnesses, and so on for the 12+ different main harnesses throughout the truck.

Since i have the trailer camera hook up i think im just going to buy the ford harness and a camera and mount it on my back rack that way its plug and play after i build the setup and i can remove it and use it on a trailer if i so chose

Went cheap for the few times i want the cargo cam like hooking up to the gooseneck and 5thwheel bought a wifi camera attached to my backrack powered by an aux switch this was taken at night it connects to my phone and can be left on... going to try using this, if it does not work how i want i will drop the 700$ on getting the cargo cam up and running

Is the Digital Rearview Mirror a lot better than just the standard rearview mirror?
The truck I have ordered has the Auto Dimming Mirror and I was wondering if it would
be item to try and add. Anybody have the part number for the Digital Mirror Assembly?
