I just had a Leer 100XQ with power lock installed and the dealer claims they couldn’t use the tailgate locking wires so they tapped into the passenger door wires in the cab. Aside from the fact I don’t like they penetrated into the cab, now I have to unlock the cab doors to open the tailgate instead of just grabbing the tailgate button.

Does anyone else have a Leer cap installed with the power lock wired to the tailgate?

Thanks.

I'd like to know how to achieve this too.

My '14 doesn't have a 'tailgate button' but I'd like the pop and lock kit to tie into the locking tailgate wiring if possible.

My 2020 Leer is wired just like yours. My 2016 is wire to the tailgate wiring. Both operate the same, as you say, you have to unlock the cab doors to open the tailgate. I like the 2020 wiring better as the 2016 wiring to the tailgate is unsightly and can get jammed between the bed and the tailgate.
