Can't find the trailer TPMS

Hahaha, i checked on my sales guy an he still in there but says they have made cut backs.

I got my truck with every option except for the one that included the 5t wheel ( I already have one) it is not on the 2020 yet either . I read it in the manual install sensors provided with truck ) yeah right !
No sensors and can't get on the screen . There is a part # for sensors 68433188AA . Whether that works or not I don't know. I asked my dealer he said they would check . I guess they are all home waiting for their govt check not checking on the TTPMS .

If you ordered before 2-5-20 you couldn't get XG9. If you ordered after, perhaps. It wasn't on the build site so if you didn't specifically go over that with your dealer on Dealer Connect and put it on the order, you didn't order it and won't just magically get it.

Yes, it sure sounds like the truck was ordered without XG9, the Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring System. If you signed the order sheet that way, then there is very little recourse. You could go and complain to the dealer, but they will just throw that signed order sheet in your face and say " Have a nice day."

I just saw a post titled MSRP for a 2020 and his build sheet has the TPPMS system listed as a $340 dollar option which he ordered . The question now is can they flash your screen and sell you the parts for a system you thought you already had .

Nope. Factory only option.
Not the answer you wanted, I know.

There was a post here that quoted Rod Romain that said it. I think it's because it requires an update to the screen that can't be done by your local technician.

Edit: here is one the posts: https://hdrams.com/forum/index.php?threads/2020-ordering.953/page-16#post-14494

Somewhere else you can read the actual email where Rob said it.

I've been all over that thread and while I see someone said "Rod said no" I don't see that quoted statement anywhere.

Rod also said for the past year it was available...

I believe we should be able to get the TTPMS added after the fact. To my knowledge the harness is there, but the module isn't, if you ordered it before Feb 5th. We theoretical could order the module and plug it in, but then would have to reconfigure the BCM and possible the Infotainment system. This would be the limiting factor if its possible to reconfigure or re-flash a vehicle that doesn't have it. The harness and module are in the rear bumper to the left of the licence plate.

I have asked the question internally at Chrysler(FCA) to see if there will be a dealer procedure for adding it. I will let everyone know once i get feedback.

(I work at FCA, but not in this area. I have also ordered a 2020 2500 HD before the TTPMS was being built with)

Have you been able to find out any more about this?

Maybe you are not looking hard enough. It took me like 15 seconds to find it. See the end of post #41. You are welcomed. ;)

He had it on his personal truck, so he may have thought it was released. Pretty sure they had it running on many trucks too. But they never released it to general public. I would assume it was to iron out some bugs.

So, you may or may not believe him. But I would bet he heard someone from his team say it.
He is way too high in the food chain to come up with those affirmations by himself.

If it was possible to do, I'm sure they would be more than happy to sell you the upgrade.

We also have to remind ourselves, although I am a huge fan an give much respect to rod romaine, he was also the one who preached in numerous videos about the larger brakes only being available with the max tow pkg an we have proven that to not be exactly accurate

And who is rod romain and why do we care? People that like to hear themselves talk are really annoying.

He is the chief engineer at RAM. How things are sold and packaged are not his thing. He is not in charge of production either.
But in that case, being a technical restriction, if he says it can't be done, I kind of believe it's what it is. That's more under his watch.

Much respect for the creator of the 400 hp-1000 ft lbs tq

Link please. Neither this thread or the other thread linked has that "quoted" info in post $41 where Rod says in an email response it's not possible.

If you're going to quote a source of truth, please provide the direct link to the post.

@MikeXM is referencing the tail end of post 41 in this thread. Rod Romain said, "If it is not built with it adding it later I don't believe would be an option with the tools the dealer has available."

About a year ago, a representative from Ram told TFL trucks that Mopar won't be providing a Mopar TTPMS retrofit kit, but they said it is theoretically possible, “TTPM could be added but it would consist of vehicle configuration changes, software flashes, wiring, and module replacement. It can be done, but it is not a Mopar kit that’s plug and play.” Even if we buy the hardware, I suspect no dealership will actually do the flash updates required to enable the feature, so it may require aftermarket flashing to enable the feature.
