Can the beeping when in Reverse be turned off?

I’ve gone back to my window sticker - I definitely don’t have an option that says “rear backup alarm” (I do have the Parksense front and rear park assist system) - so - it makes sense I don’t have a commercial vehicle option on my EVIC (I’m 100% sure it doesn’t exist in my EVIC menu anywhere) but it makes NO sense I would have the actual rear backup alarm! I’m confused. Amy thoughts? Thanks!

I’ll have to check again in the morning. I scrolled through every main and sub menu in the EVIC - I never saw the word commercial anywhere. I’ll try again and report back. Thanks….
Just looked at my buddy’s 2022 Tradesman Chassis Cab. Under Commercial settings there is password, idle control, and aux switches. No backup alarm, but it damn sure beeps.

It doesn’t set off signals inside the truck but whenever it thinks someone/something is too close it beeps as loud as hell outside the truck.
So, going back to this previous comment you made (specifically in bold)- does this beeping only occur when it senses something close, or does the beeping start as soon as you put the truck in reverse gear and continue until you take it out of reverse gear every time?
Do you have blind spot detection?

I think it only occurs when something is close. To my recollection, that setting is not in the EVIC, it’s in the 12” display and I’ll check again but I’m pretty sure I have the blind spot detection audio off (at least in the side mirrors it only flashes the yellow arrow).

That you’re asking this question makes me assume I’m having one of those ID10T errors and need to go back to the Uconnect and be sure I’ve set the right blind spot detection setting…

Going to the online manual, the best description may be RCP (rear cross path). I’ll have to see if I can disable that….

Ok, what you are hearing is called cross path detection. If you’re backing up, like out of a parking spot, and a vehicle or person is approaching, it will beep several times, and the indicator will Illuminate in the mirror of the side that something is approaching from. This feature is part of blind spot detection, but even though you can turn off the audible alert for blind spot, you can’t turn off the cross path detection alert.

Thanks. Just got back from inside the truck looking for the RCP option to kill it but no such luck - you’ve confirmed that.

Others have referenced a speaker near the spare tire under the bed. Is this the same speaker for cross path? If so - I am very tempted to disconnect it….

No that speaker is the backup alarm only. The cross path is through the interior speakers if im not mistaken

No, there is no external speaker. The sound comes from the speakers in the truck.
