Can someone w a Level 3 PW post your payload?

One thing is can't really change the payload from a legal point of view. You can make it handle better but you can't really change the legal payload.

I've also read that changing the rear track bar really helps in the PW towing.
I really was back and forth between a PW and Tremor f250 but the Tremor f250 road so stiff it was a quick decision. But that Tremor f250 had a nice tow/capacity rating.

My 1500 actually had a bigger capacity but at near capacity it was sketchy. From what I hear near max on a power wagon feels just fine.
 
I am in the same situation as you. From some of the other forms you can simply install air springs, air bags, or stiffer coils in the rear to make the payload the same as the other 2500s. The PW has all the same 2500 components. This is what I have been reading. You may want to look at that.

It does not. The radius arms are substantially different and are arguably the primary reason for the reduced gvwr
 
that affects payload? isn't it basically just different springs. Softer ones. I thought the articulink just allowed for more articulation.... I dunno. Shows what I know.
 
Absolutely…. It’s part of the suspension system. It has an affect on the systems ability to support and control dynamic weight . Same with the sway bar

I suspect the radius arms are the primary reason the Front GAWR is greatly reduced compared to a standard 2500, while the rear GAWR is basically the same (it actually a little higher)
 
I was checking another thread about this and just made a comment. I couldn't find the answer..........it seems that people in diesels are running power wagon radius arms. If they can't support the payload why would they install them for anything other than more suspension flex? You obviously know more than I do. Just trying to put another wrinkle in the brain.

I thank everyone for the replies. I have not pulled the trigger yet. Have had a local deal lined up at 5% below invoice, which in this market is so highly tempting. But I am reaching a bit too far on my needs. I don't want to get a PW and add things for towing. I get that is not the primary design intent of this truck. For whatever reason the other Ram HDs don't interest me, so I'm gonna sit tight for now. Just to try, I tested a loaded Tremor 150 and it had a payload of about 1600 LBs. Very impressive truck (I have never owned a Ram or Ford, only GM) but the 150 does not offer tow mirrors. The Tremor 250 7.3L gas is also something I am considering, as that would allow me to expand on trailer weight too. Anyways, still love this forum and will enjoy the PW vicariously for now!
 
wow ram boxes take off 200lbs, my level 3 is 1364 without ram boxes

But yes we are aware that a Hemi non-power Wagon 2500 gets much larger payload. 10,000lbs(gvwr) - ~7000lbs (weight) = ~ 3000lbs

Well I’m not really sure what your question is or what relevance your post about a Longhorn in the Power Wagon section is
 
My payload capacity per Ram website: 1357 lbs

Haves:
L3, tow tech group, safety group, bed utility group, trailer surround view camera system, tube steps, block heater, black wheels, monotone Diamond Black, PW tracer decals

Not haves:
Sunroof, Ramboxes, off road package
 
I am having a hard time finding payload capacity for a 2022 L3 Power Wagon without Ram boxes. I realize other options affect payload. I found someone at 1276 LBS but think that build had the Ram boxes. Not sure if that affects much. Thanks!
I was looking at that very carefully before buying a 2500. You can go to Cargurus and pull up power wagons to your hearts content copy their vin numbers listed. Then google Ram build sheet by VIN and pull em up. Paste in the VIN and there you go. https://fcacommunity.force.com/RAM/s/equipment-listing You can get window stickers (Monroney) also as they can be a bit easier to read than the build sheets but not as complete. Just click on "window sticker" at dealer websites and you can erase the vin numbers on the web site off the url and paste in the vin number for what you are looking at.

NOW, for the payload and tow rating, you go to the Ram website where you can paste in the VIN and the the tow rating for a specific vin related truck. https://www.ramtrucks.com/towing/towing-guide.html#/landing/bytowing

Well what I found was that a stripped power wagon best payload I ever saw was around 1700 lbs. MOST are in the 1300 to 1500 and change range. That was the deciding factor for me NOT getting a power wagon. I mean my 2021 1500 was that good on payload. But, I wanted one bad, but the 3000 and change payload on my new "regular" 2500 (hemi 6.4) makes up for the "hots" I had for a power wagon.

BUT, there are a lot of videos out there on YouTube of people putting tow loads on power wagons that exceed their ratings and I have yet to see one of these videos where the people were criticizing the Power Wagon performance for exceeding the "payload" ratings. In fact, just the opposite. I wouldn't do it and didn't do it and no one should, but just saying...
