Hello all, After 10 years of owning a 2005 RAM 2500 with a 5.9 Cummins, I foolishly traded it in on a half-ton Chevy because I thought I didn't need a diesel anymore. Nice truck for what it was. I pull a small travel trailer and a boat for 3 years and found out the difference between a half ton and a RAM in the mountains was literally night and day. I scampered off to the Dodge dealership and bought a 2020 dealer demo Laramie and all I can say is wow. I was sold the minute I pulled out of the parking lot on the test drive. I love this truck but there's a couple of areas I want to improve on: Tires and brakes. The stock Firestone tires are horrid. I use muddy dirt paths a lot and these tires are worthless, requiring me to use 4X4 just to get going after opening a gate. Equally, I'm not happy with the brakes, way too soft. Those things are easy enough to correct so I'll just be happy with the new rig and hope to get a lot of years out of her.

Welcome to the forum. The stock tires are lousy. I have gotten used to the brakes though. I hopped into my 2007 Cummins last Friday and man the steering and brakes seemed so stiff. LOL

Congrats on the new truck and Welcome to HDRams!

There's a Wheels/tires forum you could review options. Many great suggestions there for tires. Most of those will be AT type tires so you might have to hunt a bit for M/T if that's what you're after.

The brakes will take a bit to really bed in well. I would give them some time before considering a change. I don't know if EBC has an option yet for these in their HD truck pads, but they're always a good option.
