Calibrating Surround Cameras with Relocated Rear Camera?

I have a 2022 Power Wagon with surround view and the digital rear view camera systems. I've installed an Expedition One dual-swing rear bumper and added a new camera in the "relocated" position at the license plate holder area. I've been unable to get the camera system recalibrated, always failing on the rear camera.

I can see the camera view in center screen, for both normal and wider cross path views, but the location results in the bumper partially blocking the view angles.

Does anyone have experience with relocated cameras and getting the calibration to work? Do I need to modify the camera bracket so the field of view is unimpeded?

I can’t say for certain, but I’d say it’s likely failing because the edges of the view are blocked. When you do a calibration the system is trying to align the images front the cameras so they match up. With so much of the view blocked it’s probably not seeing enough overlap.

It’s also possible that the height of it is causing an issue, but it’s hard to say for sure until you get it a clearer view.
 
Can you help a brother out with how you got to where you are now? I just installed a canopy, and I would love to put a high center camera with tje new third brake light location..
I just re read your post and I assume you moved the tailgate camera. I’m hoping to move the center brake light camera.‍♂️

In my experience camera has to be close to factory position for it to calibrate correctly. I have an AEV bumper and couldn't get front camera to calibrate till I jury-rigged camera back in factory location.

My truck has the digital rear view camera and the bumper connector for a trailer camera. Picked up the trailer rear view camera off ebay (68527599AA), installed the camera on the camper, and ran the cable down behind the bumper to the trailer camera connector.
 
Thanks all. I'll probably mock up the camera closer to the original location and see if I can get the calibration close enough to get the surround view back.

Ah, I actually have that trailer camera! i had quickly forgotten it was in the back seat when i bought the truck. the digital rear view is what i am trying to fix. thanks!

If you mount the camera and plug it into the bumper connector (or in my case, disconnect the chassis wire from the bumper connector and plug in the camera behind the bumper) the rear view mirror display only shows the trailer camera. Lost the cargo camera, but my rear view mirror shows what's behind my camper shell instead like it's not even there.
 
Mine is a 24 rebel, which I’m guessing is different than your 22.

I plugged it in, and it gives me options on the digital mirror. Awesome, for sure. But I am forced to use all of both the 55 foot and 14 foot cables with a signal repeater in the middle. ‍♂️
 
Whoa, thats different. I picked up a 10 or 15ft universal Fakra cable off amazon, has been working like a charm.
