Well as of 9-7-21 our truck is finally registered.
Did you ever get your money back?Got my registration and plates today. Bud Clary sent the paperwork to my local DMV upon my instructions which delivered on Friday. Super easy process, only needed to get the smog check performed in advance and had them do the VIN verification at the DMV. No appointment and I was on my way in less than 30 minutes. It also looks like I'll be getting some money back as I was overcharged on the sales tax and/or licensing fees.
Yeah. They have owed me $680 since July. Apparently I need to be a squeaky wheel.Come to think of it... i did not. they owe me almost $400. I need to call them.
The DMV cut me the check for the difference directly.Did you ever get your money back?
Huh. DMV told me they have to send it back to the dealer. So dumb how it is so different everywhere. The DMV cut me the check for the difference directly.
Did they do it there on the spot or send you something in the mail? The DMV cut me the check for the difference directly.

My local DMV office sent it in the mail. I got a week later after I got my registration and plates in person. I fully expected to have to chase it down with Bud Clary. It was only $140 or so so maybe over a certain amount it needs to go back to the dealer?Did they do it there on the spot or send you something in the mail?
My dealer gave me a TTL sheet (Tax and Title List?) done by Titletec (I assume it is just software). The sheet listed all the different fees for CA tax and titling, even though the info was already on a calculation sheet. I remember it listed it as a new transfer or something like that. I would get your dealer involved. They may know what they need if they sell a lot to CA. Heck, I never had to step foot in the DMV.i needed a weight cert, smog, vin verfication.....they gave me tags and plates......2 weeks later they sent all my paerwork back to me saying i need original registration....went back to DMV and handed them my temp plate....they say no we need the title. ( why didnt you say that in the letter) i said the bank keeps title, they say they need bank to send title to me and bring it back to DMV....i called bank they say they have never heard of this.......pain in the ass, 3 trips to DMV and i drive down to san clemente because its faster.......
DMV people are horribly incompetent
so now i guess i need a copy of title to take to DMV......or certificate of origin? idk......DMV says title so waiting for it to come.....
does this sound right?
