Hi...itmay have been mentioned but....I have always had problems removing the Alfa Bypass Plugs from Canbus Blocks...as I use it for a 2019 1500 and a 2019 3500...so I thought what if just nip off the locking tabs. The trick seems too work...plug in, program...just gently tug/slide them out...no more picking away with small screw driver or pick tool..

I've been thinking of doing the same. It's such a pain to get up in there and sometimes it's hard to release it.
I don't leave mine plugged in so that's why i was thinking of doing it, before it breaks off and gets stuck in there.

The 3500 is up under light switch on the wall...the 1500 is clipped to a wire loom...the 3500 requires some dexterity for sure...

2021 2500 - I leave my bypass installed, and plugged into one port on this - https://www.performancechiptuning.com/obd2-splitter-extension-cable/. The other port is plugged into radar detector power (valentine). Anyhow, it's easy to unplug from the truck's OBD port if you go into dealer for service...without working up/behind those blocks.

There's nothing that those plugs in the bypass do (actively) unless they're connected to something. It's just a CANBUS distribution panel.... unless something is actively talking to it... it doesn't know what it's plugged into.
