I have a 2021, but a friend of mine has a 2019, do I need a security bypass cable for alpha OBD on his truck like I do on mine?

I was trying to set his tail turn and reverse lights to LED in his CBC settings because he put an aluminum flatbed on with LEDs. But I couldn't get it to work. Any help would be appreciated thank you very much.

Thank you for the quick response. I think I have a spare one in a toolbox at home I'll look and see because I just don't feel like fishing the one out of my truck

Is it the T-harness bypass for a 2018 3500? (Similar/same as the 2021 2500s?). Or does the 2018 require the radio removal?

this one....

Gotcha. So the CAn block is in a different place on the 2018s? On the 2021+ it’s above the e-brake linkage.

The little module bypass bricks go into the SGW/connector behind the EVIC in the HD trucks, therefore the cable is the preferred choice.

The 1500's have the SGW module down behind the knee bolster so they're easier to use the plug-in module.

That said, there are some radio feature changes you would need to use the module for on the HD if needed.

Al we're trying to do on his truck is tell the CBC that he has LED tail lights because he put a flatbed on.

It's on a 2018 heavy duty, where is the plug in for the t-cable?

EVIC is way up under the dash?

The CAN blocks are in the same location as the 19+ trucks. Above the E-brake, behind the headlight switch panel (pull that).

However, the clips on the plugs are slightly different.

EVIC is the Gauge Cluster center LCD display. So I said EVIC when I should say Gauge Cluster.
