Building my RAM 2500. Help

Does anyone know if the 2500 Crew Big Horn bucket seat option looks any different then the bench with the console down? Just trying to decide on my build sheet if there really is a difference because when I add the bucket seat option the picture doesn't change.

If you have a pic of your newer 2500 Big Horn Crew with bucket seats I would appreciate it.
I will add this about the bucket seats. When I was looking at trucks and eventually went on to order one, I just automatically assumed I would go with the bench because I thought it would always be nice to have that extra seat just in case. I never really paid any attention to the seat but right before I was ready to order, I brought my wife along to look at some on the lot and she tried that seat out and sat in it and there was NO legroom. I mean, she is only 5'3" and there was literally no legroom so I decided it is pretty useless unless you are piling 6 people in to go on a 10 minute drive. I ended up getting the bucket seats because there is a ton of storage in that console so go check one out in person if you are torn between the two.

As far as other options, it is VERY easy to check boxes thinking "what's another couple hundred bucks?" but it sure adds up! Like you, I went with Big Horn because you can add just about anything and I actually liked those seats better than the Laramie, all personal preference though. I don't recall if the tow package was on there like you mentioned, but in the end I figured I just had to get the 12" screen and by adding the tech package, it comes with all of the cameras and stuff. That being said, I probably didn't need the 12" screen. It is nice that it can split up two different windows, but I am sure I would have gotten along just fine with the 8". I am glad it has the front camera though because the hood is so high, you can't see anything right in front of you up close if you are parking or something. I got the 4.10s also and then started thinking "should I have gotten 3.73's to get better mileage?" Then I appreciated how responsive it is and the difference sounds negligible and I also remembered I didn't buy an HD truck for the mileage. I'll just make sure when I replace my other car, it will get like 40mpg to make up for it :). In the end, I guess it is better to get something you didn't need than to wish you hadn't added it.

Ditto on the leg room. I’ve only ever used the front middle seat for smaller kids when my sons were in scouts and we sometimes had myself and 5 young lads in the truck.
My 2022 Laramie that I ordered last week will have buckets and the monster sized center console.

I ordered the bench seat because there's plenty of space to put a rifle on the floor in front of the bench. Can't do that with buckets. Hee hee

Thanks for the info. How much payload do you have?

Limited slip diff helps in so many more scenarios than just offroad. Traction in inclement weather such as rain or snow, getting a load moving in 2wd up a hill, offroad of course. Its a cheap option too. I wouldn't be without it.
I agree. Limited slip is a "must have" for me. I don't want to mess around with 4WD in the rain or light snow and I don't want too much wheel spin at launch in those conditions. I have elock on my 1500 and it's really not for me - I don't want to have to decide when to use it and when not to use it.

Is that really necessary if you have a 4x4? Plus we don't boondock so our grounds we camp on are usually paved or at least gravel.
Well worth it a 4x4 without anti spin is not much better than a 2wd if you get in to a sticky situation….

I have to ask about this, and I'm nervous to hear the response. I ordered a Laramie with Snow Chief package and Off Road package. Will it have anti spin? Or was this a box I needed to check?

Snowchief has anti spin as part of the package i believe off road does aswell, i have both also and the anti spin works great

Or get a Megacab and keep the bucket seats. You can put a lot of rifles behind your back seat and put even more underneath the back seat.

But then you have to twist around in the driver's seat and somehow scrabble for a rifle down behind on the back floor all while driving like a madman with the zombies throwing themselves on the truck from every tree and boulder. Up front, it's just a matter of reaching down, grabbing the carbine aand there ya go! Easy peasy.

You might consider a 3500. More payload and more stable with a trailer due to the leaf springs. Price should be about the same.

I don't have a 5th wheel, but I've camped with people using 5th wheels. One feature I've seen them use is the remote tail gate release. You can release the tailgate from inside the truck just before you start backing up to your hitch. It's one less stop and get out of the truck and back in the truck to complete backing up.

Before I saw the 5th wheel guys use that option I thought the remote tail gate release was worthless. It would only be handy if you had a truck bed full of marbles and a cartoon bad guy was chasing you; you could release the load of marbles and make the bad guy spin out of control. But then I learned that you cannot release the tailgate unless the truck is in park. So my bad guy booby trap idea was squashed.

I'm excited!! Got a VIN number after about a week. Now to sit tight and me patient. Was told about 16 weeks.

That's great!! Hopefully you will get a nice surprise and it will be sooner than that. Good luck!

What are the links for the places you can go to check status on your build? I've already added to the spreadsheet but I was thinking there was a couple other places. I don't want to bother my salesman every week.:D I've got vin number and that's it but it's only been 10 days. LOL! I thought there was a place you could enter your vin nmbr and it will show you the build.
