Bug Deflector

Instead of little chips, big plastic thing.

I’ve got nothing against bug deflectors, but I’ve yet to see scientific proof that they substantially reduce the amount of bugs on the windshield.

I’ve considered one for my Power Wagon as it might compliment the existing plastic brow piece between the grille and hood, but not because I think it will prevent chips or bugs
Okay, nice to know.
If you are waiting for scientific proof you will never get a deflector, just bugs and chips.

He apparently hasn't seen the beautiful bumper you have on your truck!! Overkill is a wonderful thing!!
So you guys defend The guy who rudely questions why people put things on their trucks!. So when I question why he put something on his… I’m the bad guy. I’m confused. I thought to join this forum to seek opinions, suggestions and to get ideas. Y’all screwed that up. More and more I’m starting to realize that there are more ***** who drive HD’s and now I realize that I don’t belong here. Since I’m not broke like most of you trolls I guess I’ll concentrate more on my other vehicles and Tacomaworld. Too many Democrats over here anyways. You guys are the reason why AMERICA whom I also served is so screwed up.

What in the world are you on about?

I asked if bug deflectors worked and you took it way personally a page or two ago. It was silly for you to go there.

But, we’re the “queer democrats”?

You sound like the snowflake who can’t handle a differing opinion.

don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Lol. Says my old employee. I’m out.

This dude has issues.

9 of his 11 posts relate to bug deflectors? Unless you're selling them, who cares that much about them?

I honestly do like the look of my deflector, but that's because I found the chrome Mopar deflector, and with all the chrome on the front of my truck and the great fitment, it actually looks like it belongs IMO. I don't care so much for the black/smoke colored ones.

I like the look of them and it does its job of protecting the leading edge of the hood from chips and acidic bug guts that absolutely can hurt the paint. Your nearly flat hood isn't at near the threat as the leading edge where it rolls down to meet the top of the grill. That's what it's supposed to be protecting.

But I like the looks. I'll also be installing the side window vent visors when they arrive.

I was really hoping a “bug deflector” would help with bug on the windshield. I do love the look. I just did a trip up 93 to the 40 on my way to Lake Mead. The lower 1/3 of the windshield is pretty clean, the upper 2/3 is caked with bugs. So maybe a little deflection.

From my experience being a pretty wooded area where i am comparing my first summer with the truck without a deflector and this year with one i find i rarely have bugs on my windshield now, perhaps its a coincidence idk i have 0 evidence the biggest reason i run one is the ore hauling trucks around here love launching rocks my bug deflector looks good and keeps the rock chips down…..

That’s the most scientific evidence I’ve seen for them yet. Thanks for sharing.

I always figured they helped more with defecting rocks away from the hood.

This entire portion of your post is why you're the bad guy.

Talk about tone deaf. I'm honestly surprised you haven't turned over your racist card yet.

I put a weathertech on my 1500, my goal was to keep rocks from hitting the front of the hood. They definitely deflect the air because I noticed that the rain would not roll off the bottom half of the windshield as nicely.
I think I'd consider a low profile hood protector over a bug deflector style for my 2500.

Just thought I'd add how you couldn't be more wrong. Lot's of vets here and I can't think of one that's as you describe.
