Bug Deflector

Question.... Do you know if there are clear deflectors available for a 21 2500? I had bought a clear bug deflector in the past and had it painted to mach my Denali, looked and worked well. I was thinking that I would follow the same method with my Ram but can't find a clear bug deflector available.
I've only seen the smoke and the chrome.

I was dealt solid proof that deflectors help deflecting stones. Last summer I was driving to the cottage and I was behind one of those live bottom gravel trucks and before I knew it it went over a little bump in the road and let loose a couple of stones about 1 inch diameter. Seen it bounce once then hit my deflector on my 2017 big horn with a huge bang, I thought it was body shop time but all it did is crack the deflector. It was garbage and I had to buy another one but it saved my leading edge big time and maybe my windshield.

That’s called following too closely. But, I’m glad your truck wasn’t harmed.

Installed my Mopar chrome deflector yesterday. Mostly to protect the front edge of the hood from stone chips. I like it as it blends in with the existing chrome grill. Instructions sucked but got her done. Instead of mounting the clips to the deflector first, I installed the clips on the truck per the instructions. Then mounted the deflector on the clips. Fits nice. The guy in the parts department wanted to know where I got the part number as it was not in his system. Told him I got it from a parts screen shot someone had posted on here. He just laughted and thanked me for the numbers.

I like the look of the chrome, I just don’t have very much on the front of my truck. Just the RAM grill logo

Hey CdnHO that loks great - Can you tell me the part number of the Mopar deflector you purchased? I hit a turkey vulture today and it left a mark and small dent on the front of the hood but I think I can cover it up with a deflector. When I went to the Mopar site all I could find was a smoke coloured deflector and since my truck is bright white with lots of chrome I don't think the smoke coloured deflector will complement the truck but the chrome deflector will blend right in with all of the chorme on the grille (Limited trim). I'd appreciate if you could advise Mopar part #.
Thanks,

Someone posted this screenshot from a dealership computer. Ordered the number and it was exactly what I wanted.

I will say to be careful with the OEM deflectors. Almost all of the screws came loose over the course of about 6 months and needed to be tightened. I noticed because the two right side ones were loose enough that it started flapping on the highway. Make it a regular maintenance check!

I hate my OEM deflector. compared to Ford or chevy oems it is not nearly as stream lined and I swear I get way more hood flutter than before putting it on. Also as was said the hardware is very cheap. the stupid little plastic clip in pieces look like if you look at them wrong they will break and having the philips screw heads exposed looks cheap, Oh well at least it was fairly cheap.E0A9C190-733C-472A-AE65-7CF3D6DAC4B2.jpeg

Has anyone found a bug deflector for the hood of the 2019s yet?
Should be called a chip reducer . If they deflect bugs they just end up higher in your line of site. Had one on my last truck a friend gave it to me . I put it on so I wouldn't hurt his feelings . Didn't really deflect bugs but helped on chips .

I added the mopar bug deflector but I had it painted to match first.

i wish mopar could have made them more streamlined. I know everybody has different tastes but yours looks the same as mine way to bulky like a hoover vacuum or something. other than that your truck looks great.

I thought mine looked pretty darned streamlined and mine is an oem Mopar deflector. Something definitely looks different with yours and Arths though where it meets the grille surround??20210326_191818.jpg
