Axle broken

Hi, so I was a making a right turn today and heard a clunk halfway thru the turn followed by revs climbing but no movement. Putting the truck in drive and letting go of the brake results in no movement. I attached pictures of both sides of the rear axle.

Haha I was empty! You think I can limp her 10 miles or is not worth it?

Wouldn't chance it, right now you might just need a shaft. Drive and grind up broken bits you might need the entire dif and gears. Ugly then

The one side looks factory new???? The broken side not so much. Rusty. Regardless it looks like the axle shaft twisted out of the mounting plate. There is probably going to be metal in the bearing. Best to clean and closely inspect the bearings and hub really well and replace the seal.

Something is funky, definitely doesn’t appear to be from the same truck on the same day.

That’s a lot of that for a 2023 too.

How many miles on the truck?

You run different wheels on one side of the truck than the other? On a '23? What kind of clown show is this anyway?

I'm calling BS.
Could be a spare wheel on it if he blew/cracked one of the new aluminum ones….

OP why drive it anywhere just buy a new shaft and R/R it right where the truck sits thats the beauty of a Full floating axle

Could be. But nothing looks the same from one pic to the other.

And whatever did happen to that truck with the blown out axle, it must have been something really bad in the diff area to blow that axle through the cast cover.

The axle is part of the casting it is likely a bad casting but the damage to the axle bolt heads make me wonder. We are only getting a part of the story here for sure
