Brighter backup lights?

If you have the VSCIM it has a wire for reverse lights aswell the Vscim should only run a relay not the load though

If the tradesmen trim still uses separate incandescent bulbs for back up lights, just simply upgrading to cheap LED bulbs from fleabay will make a significant improvement. I did for my 2013 and no issues for the 6 years i owned the truck

I did that, but it didn’t help much, so I tested the flush mount LEDs I got from Tractor Supply and they worked much better.

What diode is everyone using?

I need bright backups for plowing. On my last truck I had LED's similar to the Baja ones, square on brackets under the bumper. I'd love to go lower profile with just the narrow light bar type, but curious if anyone has experience with both to compare the brightness? The square ones don't look awful, and the Baja's look even more streamlined, but still it's something hanging under the bumper.

On my last truck I made a set of brackets that keeps a cheap pair of Amazon narrow lights right up against the bumper and angled out a bit.

I’ll try to find a picture of them.

They worked well, put light out to the sides a bit better than what I have now, and were inexpensive should they get bumped by something.

Yes I'd be curious to see them. I hit my lights at times, not hard hits but just backing into loose snow banks, hard to avoid. I've never damaged them, just moved them on the brackets a bit.

I don’t have any pictures of the brackets that I made unfortunately. I’ll be designing some new ones soon though, but this gives you the idea.

Just some cheap slimline Amazon lights, nothing special. I don’t really need them now though since I have the ones in my previous reply on this, and my light stick in the rear window, along with the remote spotlight on the third brake light.

Thanks. I think something slim like that will look much better than the cubes I had on my old truck. I'm going to get the specs off the old lights so I can compare output, though in my experience the numbers don't always tell the story.

I used Baja Designs rear bumper brackets and Nilight 6.5" LED Bars (and Auxiliary Switch #2).
This is very helpful, along with the write-up. One question: where'd you get the bumper brackets? I can't find then on the Baja Designs website.
