*Breaking News* 2025 Orders from MARK DODGE **

I'm wondering if anyone has additional knowledge... I know the build guide code guides win, but the build site supports adding the air suspension to a 3500 Limited 6'4" SRW yet it's not in the (12/16 dated) code guide.

Is there anything (un)official on availability for that combination?

Code guide and VOIM (ordering software) say no. Only air on a 3500 is in max tow, which is only on dually.

Didn't watch the video, but a few little things not likely mentioned:

- New metal/rubber gasket between the block and aluminum front gear housing.
- The rear main seal is now pressed directly into the new transmission adapter, replacing the separate trans adapter/rear seal carrier.
- The damper has an integrated square 1/2" drive recess.
- The EGR Bypass Valve is still there, but no more bicycle cable; instead it's direct-actuating like the EGR Valve, but has a liquid-cooled housing.

Let me know if you have any questions about the diesels, I can try to answer.
I have a few:

Has there been any significant improvements to the hydraulic roller lifters at all? I’m aware some supplier changes were made in an effort to improve component quality, but were there any revisions to the design itself made?

Was the move to helical gears done solely on the basis for NVH reduction, or was this also done as a means to reduce any other issues like oil aeration?

Was the switch back to grey iron done as a cost savings measure, or were there issues with the CGI blocks that necessitated a change in material? (Structural integrity, material machining issues, etc etc?)

Was the DOC relocation done in an attempt to improve the ability for the truck to regenerate the DPF more efficiently, or was it done to improve the catalysts performance in reducing overall emissions?

Have there been any meaningful changes to the SCR system to improve performance and more importantly reliability? (Especially in cold climates)

Any chance we could see the internals of the CP-8 pump? I’d like to see what we’re working with. That would go a long way toward relieving a lot of concerns over a pump that looks all too much like a CP-4. Or, if this isn’t possible, are you able to describe what changes have been made to dramatically improve reliability of the pump, as well as anything done to protect the components downstream in the event the pump fails.

Ok, so the build and price is not totally complete yet. And FYI in case anyone is curious you still cannot order a gasser.
In Canada you can order a gasser in a tradesman and big horn. Source, was at the dealer on Jan the 2nd and we had fun with clicking. No higher trims than big horn available in gas yet though

Ok, guess it Power Wagon guys out of luck for some strange reason. Mbarber, just like me asking about 6.4 issues. I am sure there is a bit of dumbing down for the average consumer, but those that like and buy the brand regularly really do want to know about these things. Yes, design flaws are embarrassing and expensive, but a bit of honesty would go a longgggg way with enthusiasts. "hey we messed up, but we fixed x y and z"

Is the front cover gasket backwards compatable?

I guess I am pretty interested. Was watching ram videos on youtube late last night.

In the yellowstone video, there is a discussion that the 3500 has:
- Exhaust brake for downhill management of trailer loads
- Rear steering knob for trailer use
- And slightly more powerful engine vs 2500

Questions:

Engine braking
- I am used to using engine braking on hills in literally every vehicle that I have ever owned ( all of them gasoline based ).
- Is the engine braking option not available in 2500s with the Cummins or Hemi ?

Starter motor and alternator
- Are these still individual parts that attach to the engine or a combo unit that attaches via the engine or transmission ?
- Do these attach via the front of the engine or does the starter motor attach to a flywheel like a conventional gas engine ?

Sorry for the lack of knowledge about diesel Cummins.

Rear steering knob feature
- I have always just used old fashion "train your brain" to reverse a trailer, but I know this is not optimal, especially for family member without much experience.
- Is this available in the 2500 versions ?

California and similar
- Given the political challenges in CA and diesel hate issue
- And at least for now, the limited will only come in diesel
- And the mega cab appears to be limited to diesel
- Is the assumption that we have to run a ballot measure to over turn the issue in order to buy a megacab ?

Thanks for any insights.

Harry

The Cummins uses a VGT Turbo (it has vanes) for "engine braking." It's really Exhaust Braking and it doesn't matter what truck it's in, they all have it. it's real, and it's incredible.

Starter motor and alternator
- Are these still individual parts that attach to the engine or a combo unit that attaches via the engine or transmission ?

Traditional start on the flywheel, alternator(s) running off the front crank. There's a dual Alt option available.

Sorry for the lack of knowledge about diesel Cummins.

Steering comes with one of the tech packages and kills the option to have an AUX switch panel* *Though I've seen a 4-switch Aux for the RHO and I think that has trailer steer?

I have a few:

1) Has there been any significant improvements to the hydraulic roller lifters at all? I’m aware some supplier changes were made in an effort to improve component quality, but were there any revisions to the design itself made?

2) Was the move to helical gears done solely on the basis for NVH reduction, or was this also done as a means to reduce any other issues like oil aeration?

3) Was the switch back to grey iron done as a cost savings measure, or were there issues with the CGI blocks that necessitated a change in material? (Structural integrity, material machining issues, etc etc?)

4) Was the DOC relocation done in an attempt to improve the ability for the truck to regenerate the DPF more efficiently, or was it done to improve the catalysts performance in reducing overall emissions?

Or, if this isn’t possible, are you able to describe what changes have been made to dramatically improve reliability of the pump, as well as anything done to protect the components downstream in the event the pump fails.
1) The lifters are a carryover part. I don't know if any changes have been made recently.

2) As far as I know, it was purely for NVH. I haven't been involved too much in the gears this time. I know we looked into them for the 2019 but gave up; I think the new design has a higher number of teeth.

3) I honestly don't know. If I were guessing, it was cost and complexity...CGI's a PITA to machine.

4) I'd wager it's to warm it more quickly as the video mentions...and that's only for the pickup. The cab chassis version has the 'normal' outlet elbow with the DOC mounted further back.

5) Being at the plant, we don't have much exposure to the aftertreatment system. The only change I know of is a little SCR doser coolant pump that's mounted to the cab chassis engine.

6) I've not seen any taken apart like I have a CP4. I know the low-pressure pump on the rear is gone (the little gears would eat into the sides of their case on the CP4 IIRC), and I know something'd been changed with the pistons. Supposedly the CP8 performs as well or better than the CP3 in durability testing.

Is the front cover gasket backwards compatable?
Unfortunately not. That's the first thing we asked.

Engine braking is just like it was on the previous engines, it's done through the Variable-Geometry Turbo. It's a standard feature. Gassers don't need that because engine braking is a 'feature' of them...just downshift a gear or two, like you mention.

The starter's a standard starter, mounted to the transmission adapter. It's the same part as the 19-24. As far as I know, it's just a 'normal' alternator (I know the 2-pin connector's the same). There are a couple of dual-alternator options as well.

Sorry, unfortunately my knowledge is somewhat limited in scope. But I try. :)

ONLINE BUILDER Is up and running BUT it is not entirely accurate. For example, no you still cannot get air suspension on an SRW 3500, and there are still items that are unavailable to order (powerwagons, gas bighorns/laramies, etc). I would use the website mostly for understanding what is in the equipment packages, and building out the rough idea of your truck. Pricing is actually accurate so far that I’ve seen! https://www.ramtrucks.com/vehicle-selector.bmo.html (Make sure you click 2025)

CODE GUIDES Have been updated to show some more detail, you can see those here: https://sharesync.serverdata.net/us4/s/3KuGcu8kz7upwD4OihvRVW003f24cd

COLORS – Still only Black, White, and Granite available to order so far – but more coming

DETAILS & CONTENT – Setting up a new folder to show a ton of the new powerpoint slides and content about the trucks. I didn’t want to send them in this email, because they’ll get all encrypted. So click here: https://sharesync.serverdata.net/us4/s/3OKXv3Xd2XRcf3CfVLiCtE003f24cd

NERDY DETAILS – There are some GREAT conversations with people who know a LOT more than me, on the forums here www.hdrams.com

TIMING – So far I see BIGHORN has started production, but that’s it for now – no further ETA on start times for upper trims.

DISCOUNT/REBATES – Still 11% discount from MARK DODGE plus a $1K national rebate across the board, and they have now included the military and first responder for $500

VIDEOS

CAUTION!!!! There is a ton of info, and not everything that you see in the videos, powerpoints, website, etc- is actually available yet. If you’re ready to order lets get REAL specific where you have specific questions. Base your decisions ultimately on what is in the code-guide because that’s the only thing we can rely on when it comes to the validity of the order. We can’t say “but I saw a video and though it looked like this way” !

Thank you all for your continued interest and support in making us the #1 RAM DEALER IN THE COUNTRTY for 2024 year (volume of new Ram truck sales)

At this point I am not sure how a guy could order a truck from anyone else other then Anthony. I have to call him out, this is next level stuff. I cringe at the thought of walking into a dealer here locally. Anthony and Mark Dodge disserve all the success coming from the work being done here. How no other dealers or sales guys get this, I will never know.

I appreciate the info! Sounds like you’re in the manufacturing end of the game?

Any ETA on the Gas PowerWagons, when to order and they will arrive. Is it possible to get a PW with Leather and a bench seat. The 25MY HDCC Walkthrough Deck.pdf shows it as an option but not sure if that's real.

Pretty sure no one knows. Also build and price is missing Ram Boxes for instance. Hopefully before too long. I did see the seat choices were odd, and seemingly incomplete.
