First post here, I apologize if the answers have already been given to my questions, I performed multiple searches and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.
So far my experience with my new to me 2022 Ram 2500 has been underwhelming. I purchased the truck a month ago, and near immediately embarked on a 1200 mile trip for work. I received the "Regeneration in progress. Continue Driving" once at the beginning of the trip, and then didn't receive it until 2 days after finishing the trip, probably around 1500 miles. So everything seemed amazing. I completed both regens on the highway until the messages went away as recommended. What I did notice though is that both times it has given the "continue driving" message as if there were other regens I had not completed, which is not the case. I believe the truck is not passively regenerating and only doing these.

Anyways, the problem arises when I received the "Continue driving" message while in town, and I said okay, and headed directly to the highway to get it done. Within two minutes of this message coming up it switched to "Exhaust Filter Full, See Dealer. Reduced Power"... So I drove directly from there to the nearest dealer to me. They took a look at the truck and said I needed a new DPF after they forced a regeneration. the truck is 100 miles out of the emissions warranty so this was quoted at 3k. He stated if I did not do this that it would be back in reduced power by tomorrow because the small drive he took after force regenerating the DPF gauge on dash was back at 1/4. I took the truck home anyways because I cannot be without a vehicle while I'm on the road, and they did not have the parts anyways. The DPF gauge has not moved from 1/4 in the last 2 days since then. I am having a hard time believing that my DPF is completely shot and needs replacing at 50k miles on the clock.

Here is my problems/theories:
1. Shortly before this occuring, the audible turbo whistle on my truck has gotten louder. I believe that the truck feels underboosted, I can't find any obvious boost leaks with my limited tools away from home, however my gauge only registers 1-3 psi on any normal acceleration and it's always 0 psi if below 1500 or so RPM's. My question here is what is the normal boost PSI range I should be seeing under normal operation so that I can compare.
2. In my forum search I found that having the specific air filter is a big deal with these vehicles, when I checked I had a FRAM with the glue lines. I replaced this today with the Orange ringed Fleetgard with no glue lines. Maybe this will help my underboost situation as stated in a TSB by Ram.
3. While replacing the air filter i noticed that there is a wire bundle that touches the boot coming from bottom of turbo. Underneath this wire, it has definitely rubbed a bit on the boot causing it to be thinner there, but it doesn't seem to have gone through, could this still be the offender for my low boost? maybe at higher PSI the thinner spot doesn't hold, but looks intact while parked?
4. I just ordered archoil 6400-D as well as the 6500, as I've read that this mixture helps to keep DPF clean, it arrives tomorrow and hopefully this will get my truck to either a) produce less soot as reported by other users or b) regenerate more effectively.

Any insight anyone can provide me with is appreciated, especially normal boost ranges

Not trying to be mean but you probably bought someone's problem truck they traded in. Is it a California emissions level truck? I think they have a 70k warranty instead of 50k for the DPF, not positive on those numbers. When you are driving down the road and you roll into the "gas" what does your boost peak at? I think I see 33psi but it tapers back down as it revs up.

I understand that brother that's why I'm here looking for information lol. Not a California truck, warranty length already verified at dealer for 50k on emissions. If I roll into it on the highway it I've seen in the 30s, but like you're saying it will drop shortly after as the engine starts doing it's job on it's own. Im asking for normal driving condition boost, such as leaving from a stop at normal speeds

I don’t typically watch it but I’m 7 or less just leaving a light and just driving down the highway 55-ish 0-1 lbs
