Block heater plug socket

Has anyone fitted a power socket to the front of their 3500 for easy plug in for block heater.
Got one of Amazon and not really wanting to put on grill in case I drive away with cord in and rip grill off. Where have you guys fitted one.

If you pull away, it will likely just unplug itself or pull the cord out. Minimal problem.
Can't admit I've done that myself, but can reference a BIL who likely has.

I’ve driven away with a truck still plugged in, and can confirm that it just unplugs itself.

I had it , unplug from the socket on wall then catch the tires lol. Thinking the plastic valance were it joins the metal bumper next to front license place might be best place if there’s nothing behind it . Nothing worse than seeing the winter snake on the road on way home from work then realizing it’s yours .

I used this NOCO https://www.amazon.com/NOCO-GCP2-18-Inch-Integrated-Extension/dp/B07TLNQ328?ref_=ast_sto_dp and just drilled a hole in the aftermarket bumper I have. I haven't driven off with it yet but I would just expect the plug to pull out before it does anything to the bumper

That’s the same one I got. It’s going on stock bumper or valance so just checking there’s not a better place than the one I thought off before I drill .

NOCO. I also have it connected to my NOCO 10 amp on board charger.

Thanks for the photos. I was hoping to put it on the flat section just above where yours is located. But need to get under truck to see what’s in the way etc

You can always loop the extension cord over your driver side mirror as a reminder.

I angled it down like that, as it was more protected from water intrusion.

This is exactly what I do... and use a bright orange extension cord with the ends that have a LED that glows when plugged in.

I used the NOCO also and put it in the angled part so I can plug in with the plow on.

Thanks again for the replies, the lower section does look easy to install it on. Just have to get it done on days off. Temps starting to drop already up here.
