Blinking red & green lights under dash- what is this?

Huh... I don't recall see that up under my dash (not at home to look again).
It may be an aftermarket GPS/Fleet tracker installed by the dealer... though I've been known to be wrong before.

follow the connections, I suspect it ties into the ODB ports with a splitter.
The dealers have them installed on the lot and can track the vehicle, I had one similar, took couple minutes to remove

Whoever installed it boobie trapped the zip tie like a punji stick.

Thats a Low Jack dealers will install it depending on the financing agreement and it is a felony to remove it. So if you dont pay they can find the truck for the repo

If it’s any kind of transmitter it should have an FCCID sticker on it, right?

If he is high risk financing he would have signed for it in the financing agreement and is a felony to remove it...
It would just fall off then......not unlike lots of other parts. I wonder if tin foil would disrupt it like the trackers on semis. Don’t ask me how I know.

Its a felony to tamper with it would have been in the finacing agreement so he signed for it
Just make the payments and you wont have to worry

Felony? I find that a little far fetched. Breach of contract, sure. But, felony? I dunno.
They would never know until you missed payments and went to track it but if you stopped paying for it and disabled the tracker for them to find it that constitutes as grand theft auto which is a felony in most states
