Blind-Spot Detection Question

I jut bought a 2022 Ram 2500 Bighorn with the Safety Group. It did not come with Blind-Spot Detection. Dealer said that that group used to come with it, but with the chip shortage it currently is not. My truck is a 12-2021 build, and has the premium power tow mirrors. When I look in the mirror I can see the little triangle in the corner for the Blind-Spot light. My question is, can I, at a latter date, buy a module, plug it in, maybe tickle the BCM, and have the Blind-Spot work? Or, is it embedded in the BCM? Or? Thank you for any help.

Blind spot became a separate item and not included in the safety package since the repack last year on several models. Don't think it is currently available on the Bighorn. The Laramie does have it listed separately on the Ram website but is no longer able to be ordered as of late. Confirmed today when I checked on placing an order.

Kind of amazing that a $75,000 truck does not have Blind-Spot Detection, but my wife's $29,000 Mazda does.
This is the second thing I am disappointed in, the other being the skimpy 400 watt plug in the bed, and the truck has less than 100 miles on it.

That's a shame considering the price. With how hot the market is right now, you could probably get your money out of it pretty easily and order something that will make you happy.

Oh, I am happy. This is my third Cummings in the last 18 years, but I think there is always room for improvement.

Completely agree. My $30,000 Subaru has Blind Spot yet on a $75,000 truck I can't even order it? Being the truck is going to be used mainly to tow, it is a must have for me. Love the feature.

Between the options availability coming and going and the huge price increases, starting to lose interest.

The sad this is, it is going to cost your 3x (or more) the price to add them now. At the price of these trucks it would have been nice if they gave you a "rain check" on items like this and swapped them out when they are available.
People are paying top dollar for these higher trim trucks that don't have all the bells and whistles they normally have.
