Blind Spot Alert Unavailable Service Required

Have you gone to FCA directly for answers to your problem. I just finished up a letter asking what they are planning to do for us.
No, I really don’t have time to chase anyone down on this. It is my work truck, will just deal with the annoyance.

I'll keep you up on my voyages through the rigga mon row they will probably will throw at me .

Been a while since I posted. So just to update in case you are curious. On my third visit, the dealership, after 3 weeks of trouble shooting, determined it was the radio causing my problems. They replaced the radio and I picked it up the next day. Exactly 2 days later....Ding ding ding, blind spot unavailable service required. everything controlled through the radio was turned off or intermittent. Windows would not work either. Sitting in my driveway totally pissed at this moment and wondering how I can sue for this; I opened my door with the engine running. As luck would have it, the chime stopped, my controls worked on the radio and the windows went up and down. Shut the door and the warning returned., I did this a few times, wiggled the wire harness going from my door to the chassis. Silencio for about a week. When it returned, I repeated my efforts 2 more times than video recorded what was happening on the third event. I went in and showed the service manager and mechanic. He took the truck back in and studied the harness. They found 2 pins in a connector that were loose enough to fit sloppy in the connector. They actually duplicated the problem. They have ordered me a new harness and will install on Monday. Hopefully I have stumbled across my ghost and this will fix the issue I have chased for 14 months. Boils down to...a blind dog finding a bone I guess. Even the mechanic said, while shooting wires, he never moved the door from its full open position. What he also said was, the door modules, both left and right, were showing the doors open all the time.
I had the same issues with my 19 ram laramie with the radio will go out, my front windows would not go down, and the heat will come on around 79 degrees and could not turn it off. I went to the dealership for the rear left tail light assembly and was quoted $1100 for the assembly. I went on ebay and bought one for $474. Replaced my old light assembly with the new one. I discounted the battery for about 4 hours and I have not had any issues with my laramie blind spot monitor system. I called several junk yards from alabama to north carolina looking for the light and I was quoted anywhere from $500-$800 at the junk yard. Hope this help

I have very similar issues going on with my 2019 Chrysler 300 S AWD Blind spot alert unavailable service required on the dash , interfering with my radio / screen completely turning the display off and on, turning the heat temperature up to 75 and both the front and back defrost while the a.c is on not letting u turn the temperature down until several tries only to continue doing it again. I first noticed it when my Bluetooth was on listening to music and it chimed with the message on the dash. It also doesn't allow the windows to be rolled up or down. Took it to the dealer and they didn't get any codes to come up and just said the only thing they seen was my battery was low so we replaced it on our own but nope not the problem. Has it came back on since you replaced the tail light assembly?

No once I replaced my tail light, I have not had any issues with my truck. Check the prices from the dealership, Amazon, and ebay to get the best price. Ensure you disconnect the battery to reset your system and you should not have any issues. Thanks

Thank you. I'll be calling them tomorrow to bring it back. I'm going to mention everything you said. Now the heat isn't turning off at all when I drove it today and the rear camera won't work when it freezes my screen . I purchased the extended warranty when I bought my car so I'm hoping Mopar covers it. I paid for the diagnosis so they should wave it this time. Highly appreciate your reply. I'll update when it's fixed fingers crossed.

Thanks. I hope everything works out for you and your issues get resolved because it got frustrating with no air, no radio, and my windows would not go down.

I definitely understand. Especially in the summer. Plus it makes me nervous to drive it like that. I think it went off like 50 times when I drove it last smh lol both me and my husband are having work done on our vehicles around the same time so that will be fun. I'll update when they fix it. Thanks again :)

I've been having this issue with a 2020 1500 Limited and its at the shop now, They just told me that they found the issue and its due to a small crack in the passenger side tail light letting water in. It caused corrosion and its shorting the bus power causing the screen to go out and what not. this actually kind of makes sense to me though I'm not excited to hear the tail light is over a thousand dollars. I'm going to pull it apart and see if I can fix it before I spend that. anybody got a tail light they want to get rid of cheap lol, wish I had looked here first.

When I took mines light off it had water in it also. Look on ebay for your year and make it is a lot cheaper

I pulled it apart and sure enough there was some corrosion and more water than I expected. I dried it out and cleaned all the contacts and it's working good so far. I just covered the Crack with clear silicone for now. Kinda disappointed the dealer wanted 400 for labor to replace the light being that it took me 10 minutes to take all apart. Total quote was 16xx to replace one tail light.

So my car still hasn't been fixed. It sat at the dealership twice only for them to tell me that they couldn't figure out the issue or get any codes to come up smh I doubt they looked at it long ebough so again I will be paying out of pocket for another diagnostic fee at a new dealership that had a month waiting list. While I was waiting I took it to a private party and the code for the body control module came up when he ran it through the scanner. Did any codes come up for yours? I told the initial service dept to look at my tail light but they said it was fine, maybe they never even looked at it. I wish Mopar covered work outside of dealerships.

They didn't tell me what codes it had thrown sorry. But since I dried it out and sealed it up its been fine. No more issue so far.

I have been dealing with this issue for 3 years. It comes and goes, this is the week it is visiting. It is always the same two error messages - blind spot alert and power side steps. Another issue, less frequent, is that the center 12” display will go out and I do not have bluetooth, heat, or AC. That problem, which I suspect is related, will last for a couple days to a week. Just as random as it comes, it goes away and the center display starts working.

I am at a point where I think the best long term fix is to find the speaker that the ding ding ding emanates from and disconnect it.

Technology is great but I am longing for a truck with switches and dials instead of a big infotainment system.

Update. Fixed.

My center console went dark 6 months ago. No AC, no display, running boards, sensors, cameras not working. I went to a local shop known for electronics troubleshooting and they confirmed the radio was talking to the BCM but suggested replacing the radio. I was not convinced. When a shop wants to start replacing things hoping to fix something, I move on. Something did not add up.

There is a known issue with reliability on the uconnect4 radios, so replacing the radio I have with another one could lead to the same problem in the future. I bought an android-based replacement, and it was a POS. Infortainment.com sells uconnect5 upgrades, so I bought one and did the replacement myself.

This did not solve the problem. I spoke with tech support and they were super helpful. I live in Florida, where they are located, so I drove up to Orlando and their head of development went to work on my truck. He bench tested the components and confirmed they were working, individually. This narrowed my problem down to wiring.

I took my truck to RAM Labelle, a small dealership close to where I live. I explained everything to the service guy and asked him if he could prioritize my truck because it is my work truck and when I do not have it, it isn’t making $. They called me later that afternoon and asked if I could come by in the morning so he could show me what they found.

Next morning I went over and Alex, the tech, had my dash apart and his computer hooked up. He explained the connectors and started moving the harness around while pointing ti his computer. The different components were lighting on/off. What he found is a harness zip tied to a metal box on the left side, under the dash, has chafed and shorted out. Several pin connectors were also bent.

He had my truck put back together and ready to pickup at the end of the day. 2 weeks in and everything is working. The uconnect5 is a nice upgrade, especially wireless carplay and OTA updates. I can’t say enough good things about RAM Labelle and Infortainment.com.

I'm having the same issue with my 2023 Ram, radio turns off windows wont roll up or down a/c turned off e-torque did not work, dealership said water got into the right tail light through a small crack in the lens, module was getting wet and shorting out everything else, was quoted $1750 for the light assembly. Find out Monday of extended warranty I purchased when I bought the truck is going to cover it or not, I'm sure that $1750 does not cover any labor either
