I thought I'd read a post from another member about a squeak in the front of their 6.7 but, can't find it.
I apologize for starting this question again......
I have 6300 miles on it, it squeaks, my dealer said that there are ordering a new belt and idler pulley.....but I hate replacing OEM parts with only 6300 miles. I thought that the previous poster said that he found it was only a belt by dropping some water on the belt......anyone give me some insight into this?

Thanks all

Its gonna be the same parts as oem so let em change it lol

Put water in a spray bottle. Adjust it to spray a stream. Spray the water on the inside of the belt when it is squeaking if the squeak stops it is the belt. The noise usually comes back as the belt dries. If the noise is caused by the belt going over the tensioner it will stop when you spray the outside of the belt.

There is a thread on this somewhere here. they will replace the the belt and pulley many times and the squeak keeps coming back. I had it replaced and it came back as well. there is a design defect with it. Get the gates pulley and green HD belt from them. That seems to be the fix.

I did that and the sound came back after 1200 miles. Next step will be a new Gates idler pulley. If that doesn’t do the trick then I’ll give Dodge some free advertising on a daily basis by driving around a shiny, new, squealing truck.

Yes. The sound went away for 1200 miles then came back. Its happened to someone else after the Gates belt/tensioner too. We’ll see if the idler pulley does the trick. I’ll post an update later.

Thanks claw

No problem. In all fairness the sound isn’t as loud as it was before with the OEM belt/tensioner and it doesn’t happen after every start like it did before. Its intermittent now.
