Have you searched the forum (upper fright corner)?
It has been discussed before...it helps with minimizing multiple threads on the same topic..

Me too, Apparently there is a design flaw and they are working to come up with a fix? I really liked the thing and wish I hadn't gone in for the recall. They removed it without my permission and said they'll get back to me when a replacement is available.

There appears to be two (2) recall campaigns. One (W24) for the factory installed steps and another (W26) for standalone steps that were purchased from dealers. More details here:

My truck never came with one. It has all the options for one to be there (bed liner, led bed lights, etc) but not the step so I’m trying to locate the proper one.

Bed liners and LED lights are irrelevant as regards the factory/MOPAR bed step. There is no "proper" MOPAR bed step avail at this point - they've all been recalled by FCA, which, to date, has not provided a fix. Most 3rd party vendors have removed these MOPAR bed steps from their inventory. If you find one, it's most assuredly defective IAW the recalls. An alternative would be to acquire a step made by AMP Research.

Well I think the bed step was part of the truck bed group??? That’s included with the bed liner and the lights but I can be wrong.
It was. Mine was ordered with the bed group, and was supposed to have the bed step, but arrived without it. I hope they get their crap together on the fix soon. I'm too old and fat to be getting up in the bed without that step!

I suspect that the bed step issue was making steam before your truck was delivered and was deleted from the option group. They can do that - It's all in the fine print.

OK, sitting at the dealership now. I got the notification to make an appointment to get this taken care of , so I did. After sitting here for an hour and a half, the SA came out and asked if my truck ever had the step on it. I said "Yeah, you folks removed it over 4 months ago. I pulled up my window sticker on my laptop and showed them it was originally installed. There was some misunderstanding but the guy got hold of FCA and apparently they are going to get it put on today. I think they may be using the original style step and a new brace is added.? Apparently they are going to "find" a step (probably one that they had previously removed) and install it? Two hours and waiting.

Yes, after dealers filling dumpsters with all those removed steps, (or selling them back market on ebay) , it's just a new (different/stronger) brace and bolt.

OK, just got out of there. New step looks identical to the old one. They must have put on a new take-off with the new brace. I didn't crawl under to look, but I probably couldn't tell the difference. It's just really nice to have this useful accessory back to get my crippled old fat ass up into the back of this thing. Still in love with this truck.

I really want one. I prefer the size of the Mopar over the Amp Research. But that Mopar one is expensive........ and I have a lot of expensive things coming.

This is interesting given my dealership still tells me the parts aren't available yet.
