Bed Size Interchangeable

Hello all,
Looking to do a custom build, 2500 6.4.
Goal: take reg cab tradesman w. 8ft bed and replace bed with crew cab 6.4ft.
Question: can this me done with slight modifications to filler neck location or will this require extensive cutting and modifications?

The frame mounts are different so you would need to cut and weld mounts and extend the frame i believe too since the CCSB is longer than a RCLB aswell as modify the wiring harness

If you mount it with the wheel opening on the short bed, you'll have a gap between cab and the bed because the wheelbase is longer on the long bed.
