Bed not square to the cab?

When measuring the gap between the bed and cab, on one side there is a 1/4 in difference.

I've read this being an issue on some trucks, but should I worry if it's just 1/4 of an inch?

Not sure if it's even worth taking to the dealer if it's only gonna be a cosmetic issue only.

Truck is brand new, so it does kind of irk me.

Good thing is I couldn't hardly notice it when eyeballing it, until I actually measured.

When I first got my Powerwagon, I kept getting some kind of weird rubbing sound and finally figured out it was the rubber strip between the cab and bed. I could fit my fingers through one side and the other was just touching. So I'm sure my cab wasn't square. However, it wasn't visually noticeable and rather than trust my brand new truck to the dealership (no thanks), I just pulled the rubber strip, trimmed it and then never looked back.

The bed can be adjusted, I lease a building to a truck performance company. They unbolt and lift cabs and beds daily. I was shocked when I first saw them do it. But they explained how it took them less than hour. Thats for the bed and cab everything disconnected. So I would say adjusting the bed, would be fairly easy for a decent shop. Loosen adjust reset correctly. Hope the info helps. Grey

Gotcha, heard there could be some room for adjustment, just not sure if it's worth the trouble for 1/4 inch

I hate reading threads like this....I lose sleep over it. :D Seriously
I've already lost enough sleep over this truck and I've only had it a week. This never dawned on me till i saw it mentioned somewhere online and I went out and measured and yep its off a quarter of an inch.

Is it worth me taking it to the dealer, I'm starting to think not, over the years I'm never confident in the dealers.

I hate to ask almost not wanting to know but where are you measuring to determine its off a quarter inch.

I measured right at each outer section of the bed by laying a ruler to the cab, making sure it was oriented the same way on each side while standing in the bed looking down

I can also visually tell now that I'm aware of this, that the rubber strip that runs horizontally between the entire height of the bed against the cab, when looking at the truck from the side has about a 1/4 inch more gap on one side

All across the country guys are sneaking out to measure the gaps. Yes when mine arrives as will I. Mumble. But I have had a very good history with Dodge trucks, never let me done yet. Grey

Blame it on covid. I always assumed my topper was the crooked one, it’s a covid topper. The truck is pre covid but I had a Chevy that was crooked as a dogs leg 2016 model so who knows
