I've had my '21 RAM 3500 Limited for a few weeks now and went to hook up to a gooseneck horse trailer a couple days ago. Figured that I would do like the guys in the official RAM videos and use the bed lowering feature & cargo camera to make it real easy.
When I press the "Bed Lowering" (NOT the alt trailer height button) on the Uconnect screen, the rear of the vehicle makes some clicks and clunking noises, the dash cluster shows "Lowering..." and then after a few seconds it acts like it's done.
But, the bed didn't actually move, or at least, didn't move in any amount that was perceptible to me or anyone else who was watching. Pressing the button again resulted in more clunks and clicks in the back end and then it was done.
Does the bed lowering actually make a noticeable difference (the videos on the RAM site show it really lowering the bed, enough to get under a 2-5/16 ball and lift back up)? I seem to remember even trying the button at the dealership and not really being able to tell a difference but I figured I just didn't know what I was doing - now I wonder if it's messed up somehow.
