I’d avoid a single axle trailer like the plague. Have a blowout with a heavy single one time, and it’ll stick with you.I have been looking at the idea of using a single axle with real truck tires instead of dual baby suspensions like most trailers have. Potentially eliminates tire scrub, better lateral traction, and lifts up the trailer for better clearance.
Tandem heavy duty axles exist, and they are definitely the way to go for any decent size load.
