Battery Tray

Much to my surprise my 2024 Power Wagon battery was dead 7 ways to hell and back this morning. Strange since I had drove 70 miles the day before. All that aside I just bought a new AGM battery. My question is after removing the old battery, I found the battery tray had several molded indentations and all were full of water, obvious signs of previous water evaporating. Who knows what is beneath the tray? Is it safe to drill some drains wholes, or no go on that.

You can poke holes in it, but I believe it holds water to catch any battery acid that leaks. An AGM shouldn't leak, but just in case!
