I can't remember how much drop I needed. I think it was 5 inch drop or 7. I had a 16 2500 and can't remember how much drop I bought. Thanks Mike

I think it will depend on your options and set up. I have a 19 tradesman with off-road package. I have a 7 inch BW.

I am about to lower the rear of mine 1.5”. One to level it or get close and two every trailer I have (3) I have to use a 4x4 block under the jack to be able to get the trailer off the hitch. Probably not a problem for everyone but I have to park two trailers where the trailer is level but my truck is on the apron of the barn and slanted downhill. I’ll still probably need the block but maybe won’t have to extend the trailer jack to its max.

I have two PJ utility trailers that are identical except size. I haven't ran into that problem as of yet. But they both set on a level gravel driveway. I am planning on getting a 20+4 or 5 gooseneck. My goal is to be able to haul my compact tractor with the brushhog on it or another implement with out removing them. I started out with sub compact tractors and my tandem is 18x2. Just not enough length.

My 19 2500 Off road i use a 6inch drop and its perfect so you should be good with the 7”

For my setup I have a water trailer that uses a 2” drop with the hitch on the trailer at the top spot and a motorcycle trailer that uses a 8” drop and could go one inch more. The water wagon has an adjustable hitch so that is what I mean by the top spot. Just set the trailer at level with whatever means available and measure as shown in several U Tube videos.

The standard for trailer tongue height is 18” so measure from the top of your receiver to the ground and subtract 18” that will get you right about where you need to be with a drop hitch on any vehicle
