Aux Switches

Thanks I did read your write up, but you have all of the parts for a full Aux PDC and switch install, couldn't determine what part was what? I want the ones that plug into this like comes in the accessory pack with the truck. Preferably the Mouser part number.

They should be in that write up as well. Let me look at my left over parts and I’ll see if I have the part number

Just to make sure I get you the right part number, you want the wire connector that goes into the gray plug right?

The part numbers for the terminals are:
Male CID100-6.3-ms3 from Connector ID $0.55/each
Female 272-7116414202 from mouser

I wasn’t able to find them from the same place at the time. I wish I had to save on shipping but if you can’t find them from same place at least you have part number.

Argh. I was all set to get the Mopar Aux Switch Kit (82216450AB) as it’s been sitting in my cart for a few days. Went to complete the order tonight and it’s been discontinued!

I hope they replace it soon or I’m going to have to build the entire thing out from scratch. I want the OEM PDC, so I may have to order one of those stupid left side harnesses and disassemble the thing.

Where are you shopping it?

That kit has been on an engineering review hold for about a year, and I don’t think anyone has ever been able to buy it.

Interesting. My local dealer and a couple I called confirmed a few weeks ago there were several showing available at their warehouses, and every site was listing it available.

If I buy that left dash harness I should be able to get pretty much the entire wiring setup aside from the rear cross member pass through circuits, right? I know I’ll also need a switch panel.

If you are referring to 82216450AB They are in PDC's and available to order as of today. I put one on order and nothing kicked back. I am going to see if I can do anything to get it working in my PW even though I know there is little no chance due to hill decent button not being on the kits switch. This is probably something you would have more experience with.

Do you know what switches are on the panel? the HDC in my Rebel is on the shifter switch panel, not the center stack.

Not for sure. I’ll take a look at the kit and post some pictures. The parts catalog has a poor description. I did run Through all the dif 23’ model your part numbers and sales codes. I didn’t pick up the rebel HDC being on the shifter switch. It makes some sense though.

I ordered 82216450AB from BAM on March 24th, and just got a shipping notice today. I'll update you once I receive it and let you know about the switches. Once my install is complete, I'll have that set of switches and a spare set of 68476024AB to post in the for sale section, due to previous shipping mixups.

Awesome, thank you. I tried to get both Mopar/Ram customer service to help figure it out and the response every time was to ask my dealer. Th e dealer of course said they’d happily order one for me for $450 and then I’d know. Super helpful.

Looks like the kit is for the base trucks. I assume you could use the fuse box from this kit and then order the correct auxiliary switch you need (except PW). The harness appears to be set up to go directly to the plug on in the center stack. I’ll dig into this more as time permits. I want to decode the different switches in the parts catalogs and trace some of the wiring diagrams.

Weird that it comes with a switch panel with Alt trailer height (so air suspension), but no front and rear parksense. It seems like they should be selling the switch panel and the rest of the kit separately, or asking for a VIN to match the right switch panel for the truck.

Could I convince you to photograph or scan the entire instruction book?

I need someone smarter than me but it certainly feels like the circuit board can handle a total of 5 upper switches and 6 lower auxiliary switches. If that were the case then would I not just need to position the buttons correctly to the pin out on the plug?

Also the kit does not include the needed wires to go from you auxiliary item into the aux switch relay box.

If my theory about the switches is correct then I would think a PW owner could use the switch that is set up with the auxiliary buttons, Front and rear park sensors, traction control, tow/haul and exhaust brake. But the exhaust brake button would be used for the hill decent. I know this is all crazy but I personally prefer the factory look.

Following what @Jimmy07 said, I took the time to locate my exact year and trim on Autotrader, which had the aux switches from the factory, as well as bill descent and other bells. It was essentially a fully loaded 21 Longhorn 2500 Diesel. The aux part number my local CDJR gave me differed vastly from the decoder ring posted earlier in this thread, so be mindful of that.

If I’m looking at the mopar kit above, it looks like it comes with the leads that are missing through the fire block, you just omit the leads that stop halfway and swap out with the leads shown in the install manual under A2. Perhaps I’m missing something.

What I’d like to know is if it’s worth the $380 for the PDC if I can get something like this on Amazon for $27 and it keeps my connections in the cab where I need them? I say like this… I’ll likely go the Eaton/Bussman route but still…?
