Aux Switches

I just installed a Bed mounted RDS tank with a fuel pump diesel polishing system. In the video, I show exactly how to program the switches and which wires to tap if you do not have the harness for the plugs. The body mounted plugs under the hood are made with female flat blades and will accept a standard flat male blade for wiring your optional equipment.

LMK if this helps!

Here’s the left dash harness, part number 68460171AA, that @JesseLackman posted about last week:

It was $200 shipped, and it seems moparpartsgiant is the only supplier that has it for that price. If anyone wants to go this route, I would buy this harness while you can at this price, which is cheaper than the aftermarket kits.
The harness is for a diesel truck, and has provisions for fog lamps and front park sensors. It does not have provisions for blind spot monitoring.
This harness will not work to fully swap into a gasser, because it’s missing the battery circuit for the TCM, two grounds, and the vacuum pump circuits (and no axle locker circuits for power wagon). You’re better off stripping the AUX PDC out of the harness, and you’ll gain all the upfitter wiring just like factory, including the interior pass through connector.

That's what I did. I have the interior switch panel but haven't worked on it anymore.

HI everyone, I have read this whole thread and a few others. Ive just ordered a ram3500 which i receive next week. laramie lots of goodies but sadly no aux switches as standard. as a diesel it has the pdc. I like the look of a clean install as factory as possible. now the left harness is over $600 they can keep it. So ive ordered the correct switch and am buying the various bits and pieces to do the conversion. I looked up but couldnt find the xy125 pin types. I tried mouser electronics who supplied me with all the bits and pieces to change every connector in my boat(took ages). Now the ram project. I would like to try not to cut or tee off the switch wires if possible. Has anyone tried to access the xy125 and replace the empty connectors(engine side) with the correct pins and run the cables that way? Nothing here suggested its been done. Any assistance with pin types(connectors) would be very welcome. If I can arrange the pins and it doesnt take a week to access them I will post pics and info on my journey... :) Love from Australia

I believe those are Yazaki pins that are hard to source unless you buy qty of 100.

@Jimmy07 may be able to help you on that, PM him.

I did not order/want the aux switches but they are definitely not standard on the PW with 8.4" NAV. Just get the traction control, tow/haul, rear sensor and front sensor switches.View attachment 1071
Mine had the "snow chief" package (has the aux switches) with the console (five passenger) and the 8.4 inch with NAV. I have the toggles like your pic next to the tow brake piece AND the role of aux buttons in a silver all lined up right below the toggle switches.

We are on the same journey.
I still haven't look under the dash to see if it's a male or female pin we need to get.

Please post here.
Thanks

Pics? Never heard of such a thing. Piano keys with factory AUX seems unpossible.

For everyone looking to put auxiliary switches in your 5th gen Ram, 4 wheel electronics has done all the heavy lifting for you. You will just need to source the auxiliary switches that you want. I went with this part number for my 2019 3500 - 68376644AE. Got mine for a dealership in Illinois. You can find them on Ebay from time to time or a place that have salvage Ram trucks.

Here's the link to the relay / fuse wire harness

I installed on my 2020 Ram 2500 and was very easy, you will still need ALFAobd to enable the switches once installed but very simple and they work as factory. The programming comes up in the EVIC rather than the Uconnect screen but same functionality. Options are Switch power source (ignition or battery), operation (momentary or Latching) Last state (on or off)

Where did you mount the fues box from 4WHEELELECTRONICS under the hood? Pictures would be very helpful! Thanks

Sorry traveling and then forgot about this. I mounted it right to the back of the factory PDP under the hood. There are two holes on the back side of it, one had a thread clip already, so I put a thread clip in the second one and used a piece of angle iron to bolt the other too. I hope this helps and again sorry for the delay. Also the panel I received wires are Yellow is number 1 aux, Green is #2 Aux, White is number 3 Aux, Blue is number 4 Aux, Black is number 5 Aux and Purple is number 6 Aux

Has anybody looked at using the Rough Country MLC-6 relay distribution box with the aux switches. Might be a clean way to go if you can integrate it with the Ram switches. Priced at $200. It comes with switches if you don't mind the look of them.

I just bought one and plan on installing it in the next couple of weeks as the factory upfit switches do not appear to be an option for me. I received it today and it looks to be a high quality turn key product. I'll try posting an update once complete.

Great write-up!

I have a questions that is tangential to the AUX discussion. I currently have a 2022 RAM 2500 Longhorn Limited that came with the 4 switch instrument panel w/ trailer break. I'm unable to find a conversion kit for the 2022 2500 for a 6 AUX kit. Has anyone come across an aftermarket solution?

It looks like ram brought a upfitter kit to the 1500s the description even says it’s for 2021 1500s and up. Kit says it comes with everything you need just need the sales code added, they also provide instructions to help your install. 82216449AB this is the part code.

Interning…any idea of the connector on the back of the HD switch panel is the same as on the 1500s? Looks like it might be feasible to retrofit?

Hi there, new to this forum but been reading up. Quick question and hopefully I just didn't miss my answer on these threads... on a 2021 3500 big horn, I have the aux switches, what I'm looking for is a way to hook up added interior lights inside the cab without having to go back out through the fire wall to the connectors. Is there any other connectors inside the cab to use with those switches? Or just any other connectors inside the cab to use instead of the aux switches?? ‍♂️ Thanks.
Hiding in a sticky over in interior.

There are 4 new pass-through circuits in the 21 trucks, so 5 total.

Here's a picture of where four of the pass-thru wires are located, and also a "highlighted" schematic of the wires.
I was using these for some add-ons, and thought this information might help.
The pass-thru wires in my 2022 were identified with a small piece of "yellow" tape.

I should have included the wire color abbreviations.
