Aux Switches

Is that going in a truck without a full center console like a Power Wagon?
Yeah I installed it in my 2019 Power Wagon and enabled the switches through the computer. I have ordered all the PDC parts but can't find the part number for the actual PDC fuse block.

Still trying to find that part.

Looks like that is the main power distribution center

How does the underhood aux pdc recieve power/signal from the switches? What/where does it plug in?

Not sure, some here have said the left front cab harness doesn't have the wiring from the aux switches to the aux PDC.

Here are pictures of the switch. While you can pull off the faceplate it doesn't look like you can replace the writing on them unless you get someone to mold you a custom button

I got mine installed with relative ease and enabled them through alphaodb.

Have the aux pdc on order and will install that when it comes in.

One more question, did the original switch panel connector plug right into the 68376640AE aux switch panel? How many wires go into the plug, does it seem like there are enough in that connector to run 6 aux circuits in the aux PDC?

Do you have a picture of the back of the original non aux switch panel?

It is the stock connector. I thought the same thing as you but there are enough given it isn't driving 12V power to each but rather a bus signal.

It's #2. I ordered that one, haven't ordered the aux switch panel yet. I tracked it down to the same part number you have.
#2 in that picture of parts you posted is the bag of accessory wires that is included with trucks equipped with aux switches.
The only way to get the actual aux fuse box on a truck that doesn’t have one is to order a complete left dash harness that has it built into the harness. Here is a composite of what the left dash harness looks like on the truck-

Do you by chance know the part number? I cannot seem to find enough detail to determine the part number.

There isn’t one particular part number, there are several because other wiring options are contained in that left dash harness. You need to find a truck on autotrader that has the same options as your truck, but also has the aux switches. Get the VIN of that truck, call a dealership parts department, and ask the parts guy what part number left dash harness that VIN has. Some of the options that matter for that left dash harness are whether or not you have fog lamps (if so, LED or halogen), LED headlights (if so, reflective or adaptive), remote start, and blind spot monitoring. All of these features have bearing on the dash harness part number because it contains (or doesn’t) wiring/different connectors for those options.

Kind of. Each switch has it’s own wire that goes to #86 on it’s relay coil in the aux PDC. The switch bank is a computer with power, ground, and Lin Bus wire. Lin bus is how the switch bank communicates with the rest of the vehicle when you press any button on it. When you press an aux switch button, it is basically just completing the ground circuit to energize the relay coil. Lin bus comes into play because you have that aux switch configured a certain way in the instrument cluster (momentary/latching, battery constant/ignition power, remember last state). So, when you press aux switch 1, ground is complete, coil is energized, and a message is sent to the BCM, who relays it to the instrument cluster, who comes back and says “it’s latching, keep the coil energized when switch is released/ it’s battery power, energize the coil even though the truck is off/ it’s remember last state”, etc.

Is it possible to wire a aftermarket box from Amazon in place of the oem pdc box?

Sent from my SM-N960W using Tapatalk

Yes, that is the most viable solution.
Is there a write up on this? Since your plugging the oem switch into the trucks harness do you have to splice into your trucks wiring harness for the aftermarket pdc box?

@BigSwede is putting something together and writing it up. He said he would post when he was finished.

Awesome. I'll go ahead and order my switch from the dealer and hopefully the write up comes soon :)

Here's left dash wiring harness part numbers. I searched using my VIN but it looks like bunch of harness variations for 2500s are listed. It doesn't look like you can buy them.

Aux switches were not a listed option when we ordered our power wagon. If they had been I would have ordered them, I ordered every other option except the loud back up alarm and DOT safety kit.

I wonder if you could have special ordered them.
