Any update on an adapter from an industry standard 5-pin camera connector to the proprietary 12-pin Ram plug?
I tried ordering a 2500 today and was told that the trailer camera wiring prep (code XFQ) is not available. Has anyone else heard this? Can I have the dealer add it when the truck arrives?
I don't want to buy the Mopar camera, but I'm hoping I can add an aftermarket camera using the 12-pin plug at some point.
Imop, you made a smart decision. I wish I didn't pay for the $400 add on that i pd for the capability, total waste of my money. Between the big bulky wire harnesses and the junk camera and the capability your over$1000 for something your never going to be happy with, especially since you can't leave it on. I'm glad I returned the $500 camera system, looked like junk on my 33' fiver. It's sad that they won't do a wireless system. It should be just as simple as using a receiver to get a signal from a camera, ( like a wireless mouse with laptop). Oh well, maybe there listening that we've all resorted to using our furrionA different dealer was able to add it at MSRP of $515. Since I'd still have to pay for the camera, and the only Mopar version is terrible, I decided to leave it off. If someone comes up with a way to add an aftermarket camera I'll consider having the wiring added later by the dealer.
