Has anyone found a connector to go from camera to truck. 5 pin to 12 pin

I have been looking everywhere. I even contacted a third party company to see if they have any yet. No luck. From what I have found, the Ford system uses the same connector for the trailer, but I have not found a part number. The only way to get the connector is to buy the overpriced camera kit which is over $500.

Thats exactly what I'm trying to get away from. They say the mopar camera isn't that good an I found some good back up cameras with 66ft of cable for $177. Now I just need an adapter.

Me too. Whoever comes up with that trailer plug first will make a fortune.

You can buy the Ferd camera kit for $224. (see the thread I linked below)

I haven't contacted any of these sources I posted about in this thread directly yet but I'm hopeful they will soon have the 12-pin camera harness setups.

Perhaps someone with less procrastination experience than I can contact some of them.

I know i could make one an splice some wires together to get corresponding ends that would fit but i have a major problem with cut wire harnesses on a 83k truck hauling a trailer worth twice that. If it's not factory manufactured, is not going on mine. I talked to a safety camera company today that said the big three have blocked them out an propriety them right out of there systems so they just have to wait until there units come out then design the hardware after the fact.

I got another question for you all.i know this might be pushing the limits a bit considering we can't even figure out 1 aux camera but the u connect system with the extra trailer wiring pkg says that you can use an chose up to 2 different aux cameras to Toggle between. Anyone have any info on how that works. I would not think that , at your 12 pin bumper plug in, there is just s pig tail because how would it know wich one to pick. Almost seams like it would have to be 2 totally different plug ins.hmmmmm~mmmmmm

Did you review any of the links I provided? One of the vendors (with a great Sony UCCD camera) makes a kit that plugs straight into the ford factory harness so I think the story you're getting is BS.

The 12-pin is wired up to support 2 cameras. I have the Ford wiring pinout but it only shows the video feeds on two pins. Can't be that hard to figure out the others I just haven't done any deeper research than that.
The split for the second camera is going to be at the tail end of the first trailer-truck harness that you plug the longer harness into, just haven't seen one yet. The Uconnect screen has the option for for the second camera, I believe it's the same button to toggle them but not 100% sure.

It's not magic, they're analog camera feeds.

Has anyone seen some detailed photos of the connector? I wonder if it's something off the shelf that we could identify and make ourselves.

I will not accept nor deny the fact that I looked at the blue oval ferd links. That being said, there are so many options out there for great quality cameras that are better than the mopar version. I also agree that this is not electronics science an could all be remedied if ram would step up an release the plug ins. But they won't do that because they have a $550 cash cow in a aux camera pkg.

So the aux camera in this video isn't very good? I assume it's a MOPAR camera pkg.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I read some info a bit ago an I know we debated this before, about the 7/12 pin plug in ports. We've talked about them both being on the bumper an some saying that inside the bed was just the 7 pin an others saying that both were in the bed as well as on bumper. So what I read was the truck comes with the class v hitch, so if you add the xfq aux cam pkg it will give both plug ins ports on the rear bumper. If you add the fiver/gooseneck tow prep pkg to your build with the xfq , then you will get both 7/12 ports in bed an on bumper. Hopefully that was accurate with how they will come

Just wanted to confirm the previous post on the new 20 models. I looked over my new build today an with the rear aux camera set up you get both plug ins on the bumper an in the bed for 7/12

Look behind the guy. What do you see on the shelves behind him?
If you went to McDonald's to buy a Whopper, would they sell you one?

And as I have posted in another thread, the 12-pin Aux camera receptacles are not BOTH plugged in at the same time. It's one or the other. My truck has the bed receptacle plugged into the body wiring harness. The bumper camera receptacle has a dust seal plugged into it.

Rich, please record all the part number tages, and part numbers stamped into your Mopar camera harness and plugs for the benefit of those of us trying to fab up an alternate solution.

Id be happy to. Just so every body is aware though, i have not ordered the $550 junk camera kit yet. I plan on getting it in the very near future after I get all this settled out an we get a few things taken care of first. I was very apprehensive of ordering a bunch of stuff ahead of time then some thing go wrong.all I've actually purchased before I've taken ownership so far is the 30k fiver hitch, wich I'm hoping if something bad happens that they still just reimburse me for it.

Don't buy the junk camera. See my posts of the tests I did today.
