Oh ok, misunderstood ya. Mine hits the top of the safe mark with 3 gallons.Just over the word safe
I’ve had my truck act like this before many times. What I’ve found, especially after installing the Banks iDash, is that the EGT’s post-turbo can actually be “cooler” when the truck is at operating temperature and is moving down the road in a low load, or no load scenario. Thats why it will, or it can, in some cases, start to fill the DPF back up in the manner you described. In the mornings, especially on cooler mornings, the truck will for a short time, actually have higher EGT’s when the engine is cold and is working a little harder to get things going. That short window usually affords some EGT’s high enough to achieve some passive regeneration. Coupled with the cooler, denser air, which makes the truck run better and cleaner. I think this is partly why my truck is able to easily achieve 800-1000 miles (24 engine hours) between regeneration Cycles in the winter months, but can’t make it more than 400-500 miles in the summer. Especially considering I plug my block heater in anytime nighttime temperatures drop below 40°F. My house is less than a minute from the highway on-ramp so my truck goes from 0 to 75+ mph in a very brief timeframe. This trucks confuses me so much. I've been using the Archoil additive for a few weeks. I do think it has helped.
Yesterday I went on a 150 mile round trip interstate drive. DFP started at 40 ish % full. Triggered a Regen... lasted 20 minutes. Not abnormal. Then over the course of 100 miles refilled the DPF from 0 to 25%. Half way to another Regen. Again all interstate, 73 miles per hour over an hour drive.
This morning start it up and drive to work. 15 miles, all highway only 60 MPH. Darn thing passively regened back to 0 within 10 miles. Geez.
Same. Even double dosing hasn't helped. Two regens a tank where I was regularly every other. Was 1 mpg better tho. This trucks confuses me so much. I've been using the Archoil additive for a few weeks. I do think it has helped.

You’re seeing consistent post-DPF EGT’s in the 900-1000 range with an unloaded truck, not towing!?FWIW, my most recent regen from (mostly) around town driving on my 2020 HO:
Last active regen (gauge ~45%) was 342 miles, @16 hours, (6 idle 10 drive).
I was forced to stop (work site visit) before regen completed.
It took approx 60 mins total (30/30) and 35 miles (15/20). The first half was city (boulevard) driving up to 55 or so, took and a few miles highway @70+, about 30 mins total. I detoured my destination and drove highway as long as I could afford timewise.
On my return trip home I took a different route that is 95% highway. Traffic was light so I was able to maintain higher speeds. Added more detour past the house and it finished after ~30 mins.
EGT temps post DPF hovered between 930-1080. On that higher end if I was running 85+
This tank has a normal treatment of XPD in it. I do have a bottle of Archoil 6500 but haven't really seen a need to use it yet. The truck does seem to be regen more often in the warm weather. Still only at 17K miles so this is either weather and/or normal and/or all you 2022 owners put a hex my truck.
Oh ok sorry. I misunderstood what you were saying.
The last part of your post is what everyone has been trying to get done but evidently the dealers don’t know how to fix the problem or don’t care. The Archoil has allowed us to operate without having to visit the dealer. The 6400D is a lot stouter than the 6500 and most people run it first and then go to the 6500D. The 6500D is working for me but not as well as the 6400D did.Has anyone had the China MAF fix their regen frequency? Everything I've been reading and @mbarber84 survey is saying that for the majority, it's not doing anything. My dealer was saying that it is.
I haven't popped a code yet but I go into regen an average of 339 miles and that's with mostly highway driving. I'll tow my TT a couple hundred miles and 15 miles later my DPF is up 12.5%. I'm currently awaiting my oil analysis result. It's my understanding that this won't be covered under warranty unless I have a code or the dealer can prove that something is faulty otherwise, I have to pay out of pocket including for the part that might not even solve the problem. I'm not one for throwing parts at an issue.
Also, for those that are using Archoil with the purpose of reducing regen frequency, are you using the Archoil out of warranty? I started using the standard dose and so far I haven't noticed a major difference. I'm contemplating using the performance dose. The reason I ask is because wouldn't it be better to fix a problem under warranty? If the Archoil does reduce regens wouldn't that possibly cover an underlying issue that otherwise wouldn't be a big enough issue to fix?
That's what I figured and also the reason why I started using it. I did the 6400 first and am a couple doses into the 6500. I'm toying with using the performance dose. Maybe some are just using it until they can trade in their truck. This is very interesting….is there any way we could get photos from this owner of what that ground wire to chassis solution looks like?Sharing this from someone who recently had a regen frequency issue. It was shared with me. They tried multiple things and ended up moving the ground wire for the DPF differential pressure sensor to a different location. The owner has the truck back and is driving it to see if things improve. So far it looks promising. Here’s the dialog that was shared with him (it’s between the technician and STAR). I’ve redacted any identities. Not saying this is the fix for every situation but definitely something to consider. View attachment 75989View attachment 75990
