Are the lubricity additives working? Are CP4 failures occurring anyway?

I am almost positive my Ecodiesel Grand Cherokee has a CP4. No issues. There are so many vehicles with the CP4 out there. I just found out a VW Passat diesel has the CP4. Failures are more common for the CP4 than lets say the CP3 that doesn't really have failures but the CP4 failures are still an incredibly small percentage of existing pumps. I wouldn't even treat the tank just run it - you're gonna get a new pump soon anyway...and if it fails before then its under warranty...you'll get a new CP4 until the recall parts are in.

It's been reported Cummins runs the CP4.2 faster so the failure rate is higher.

FWIW, that video was a CP4.1 used in smaller cars.

If the CP4 fails it will get the updated pump that will be in the recall the CP3.3 not the cp4.
