Are fuel additives recommended? (Dealer says no)

A vehicle MFG would never come out and say, "You should add something extra to our product because it could break otherwise". That said, if you have a 2019-2020 with a CP4.2 fuel pump, it's going to break, otherwise. Best defense is up the fuel lubricity. I use 1oz HSS EDT + 2.5oz LX4 every tank. At the least, it's a low cost false sense of security. At the best, it's glitter party prevention.
They recalled the 19's&20's so they don't have the cp4.2 anymore

He sold his truck just before the recall came out it was quite funny actually how much fear mongering there was for a 4% failure rate reminded me of chicken little “the sky is falling”
The same fear mongering is now going on for the same recall for the Ecodiesel whose failure rate is less than1% @ .92%

1. You're replying to a 2 year old post and the member hasn't been seen since 2021.
2. Yes, everyone here knows about the CP4.2 recall.
3. It's unlikely that all 340K+ trucks have all had their CP4.2 pumps replaced. I had a concrete contractor with a 19 that had no clue he needed a recall done.
