Are any gooseneck balls better than others?

I'm shopping trailers. Might possibly end up with a gooseneck. My truck does have the 5th wheel prep so I think I'm golden, all I need is a ball and the safety chain connections. Are there any particular gooseneck balls that are better? Or are they all about the same?

I went with the B&W setup because I liked the small bit of extra height provided, for the particular trailers I frequently tow.

The curt is also a quality option.
