Well, you’re entitled to your opinion. We will have to agree to disagree on this subject.

Nothing wrong with king or bils. Kings and bils aren’t in the same league, or even the same sport, you can’t compare the two. Also, I never spoke poorly about your favorite truck bits.

Another note, you’re talking about cheap shocks. Cheap shocks don’t count. Those are cheap shocks. Emulsion shocks are all cheap shocks. Don’t categorize fox as junk when you’re buying the lowest shelf items.

The list price for the 2.5 fox shocks in the rear of my Toyota are $789 each. Yes, each. I custom tuned them myself, changed the valving and drilled bleed Ports in the pistons. They’re phenomenal. My brother happens to be engineer #2 at fox and I’ve toured their facility and I’ve seen the test vehicles and the test equipment. They’re far from junk. King shocks are equally as good, maybe a little better but they’re also more expensive, typically.

If the cheaper ones dont last how could i trust the expensive ones thats why when i linked and toned my yj i dropped 3 k on king coil overs, the way i see it is you should put the same quality standards for all of your product lines not just the top of the line

They wouldn’t be cheap then

can’t beat king coilovers!

I have Fox 2.5 shocks valved by Carli on my 2007. They have been on there for 12 years now without a problem. I did rip a driver's side rear shock mount off but that is common on 3rd Gens that get used.

I am going King 2.5s on my 2020. If Carli still had the Bilstein 2.65 ACVs I would probably be going that route.

Hey friendly internet friends, back here with an update. My fellow Ram owner buddies are telling me to stay away from a 17" wheel as it would look funny on such a large truck. So back to the drawing board. I was now thinking this, without suspension mods. Is it do-able?

Trail Ready HD20 20x9.5 5.5" backspace on 35/12.5/20.

My brain wants to believe that since the overall dimensions of the tire are the same between both, it shouldn't matter. However, between scouring through threads and seeing this wheel is 1" wider, my head is spinning.

Your friend is mistaken less wheel with more tire is always the best look....

I agree. Your friend is mistaken.

Rather than take any of our word for it, I'd recommend viewing the different sizes and see what looks the best to you.

The customwheeloffset gallery is one of my go to resources, as there are a ton of filters that allow you to dial in pretty specific to what you're looking at, with real consumer pics, not manufacturer brochure photos.

That's what I thought as well! They stated since the truck is so large, it wouldn't make sense. Yet, on my '17 Raptor I had 17" Methods and ran 35's, and it didn't look funky. I love the meaty tire look.

Thank you! I had no idea that website even existed. I just looked up the specs and found exactly what I was looking for! I think I will stick with the 17x8.5 5.5" backspace Trail Ready HD wheels. No need for me to go out and spend another $1600 on tires when I already have a basically new set that will fit 17" wheels.

My opinion resembles those of most of the truck groups I belong to. For a 4x4 truck that will see dirt, more tire and less wheel looks and performs better. If you are into lowered street trucks, then more wheel and less tire looks and performs better.

I’ve got 35-12.50-18 ridge grapplers on 18” methods. I had 17’s on my last truck and it didn’t look much different.

Are those the mesh or grids?

This was my Raptor I came from with 17’s. Comparatively speaking, I’d like to think they’re both large trucks, but just in different ways. I have always liked the meaty tire look (I always thought thats how it should look?). Now just so torn between Trail Ready HD’s or Methods. Not so much worried about the price, but Method never really helped me resolve any issues with the paint flaking around the bore with the wheels on my Raptor right before warranty ended. They kicked me back to Tire Rack where I bought and they didn’t help either. Rather give business to a company that appreciates it and delivers a quality product. Does anyone have experience with Trail Ready?
