This works for me unloaded... but then I just use the bumper.

Reaching in from the side in a dually can be tricky with a 5th wheel hooked up....that bubble butt is a real thing.

I usually drop the tail gate and flop into the bed like a beached whale.

I use a 2-step ladder from Harbor Freight. Works perfectly me for - I'm also 5'8"

Folding dirt bike stand. These things are lightweight, fold flat and can take a beating. I've had mine for almost 10yrs and it's still almost like new. I use it constantly for it's intended purpose (dirt bikes), as a step stool and as a great side table when camping.
