The place that I am getting the window tint done at also does the Waxoyl treatment. In general I have never done undercoating for various reasons however this seems a little different. Any opinions on the Waxoyl product and application?

It may be a FAC canada thing but all the dealers here have the same paint protection and undercoating pkg they offer
Ahh, that must be it. I’m kinda surprised they don’t offer something like that here in Idaho and the other northern states honestly.

I had a truck that I'd ordered new waxoiled by the dealer because I took delivery in mid December. It seemed like pretty good protection, but it does need to be touched up. I really like woolwax. I apply it myself, easy to use, and if you heat it up it really flows nicely.

No its not bad but i prefer oil undercoatings
I am going to make an assumption that Waxoyl is oil based. I guess I have to see it in person but it sounds like it never dry's and can be messy if it is oil based...

I'm not sure but the stuff i use is fluid film it is messy but it creeps in ti the tight spots really well and does not wash off like most coatings will.

Waxoyl gets tough like wax but still flexible so its not oily

When I got my truck I did a ton of research on this. I settled on NHOA Boss Wax and Oil at a place in Michigan. I live in Ohio and drove it 2 hours to get this done as they were only shop that did the wax near me. It's a big job and they partially dissasemble and mask all electrical, etc. before applying it. They only do the wax on new trucks. I wanted to preserve it as much as possible as the salt around here is bad in winter. It dries semi hard and dry to the touch. They then fogged all cavities with their oil that creeps.

I would be interested in seeing any pic’s you may have. I still having problems visualizing these type of under coatings. I want to be able to protect the underside from salt but don’t want the whole underside to be black and still want to be able to service and replace things without making a mess.

These are just the prep pics. I have a video of the after but not sure how to post. Maybe PM me and I can send via we transfer or something.

That’s a amazing job they did. All of the local undercoating joints by me that advertise I have never seen anyone use such a process.

Undercoating and wax undercoating are 2 different things the standard undercoating overspray is easily cleaned off the wax stuff takes a lot of work to remove so its much easier to mask off first lol

Although id be a little ticked off if they didn't spray the bottom of the trans/ transfer case and the majority of the under engine that still needs corrosion protection

I though the cases are made of a four part aluminum?

Rattle cans of cosmoline. Military used for like a century, from tanks to guns preventing corrosion on long storage. Applies like fluid film , once and done. Get the fluid film hose tip and some body panel tools , pop some covers in the door bottoms and rocker and snake it in and give her hell everywhere.
