Anybody Have Any Issues with the new HD's yet?

Here is a new one for me. Took our 5th wheel up into the mountains. The 2 times I started my truck it stalled on me. The second time, thinking it was cold, I remote started it for a few minutes but when I put it in drive it stalled. Once I restarted it, the truck seemed to rev up and down until I drove maybe 50 feet.
I have a buddy who has a cabin in Happy Jack, and he has been complaining about this very issue. The dealer has just been blowing him off. It seems to be elevation related, not temperature. If you make any progress on that, post up.

I’m at 8,000 ft. No issues so far.

Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone has had any issues yet with their new HDs? I'm close to ordering mine and I'm little hesitant being its the first year, even though I know it isn't completely all new.
I am having issues with automatic rain sensor. Keep turning on when rain stop. No fix found yet.

Had my first issue today after about 4K miles. It rained hard for a while and my drivers side grab handle in the cab was dripping water. First start and stop about a tablespoon of water poured out. Has anyone experienced or heard of this? I’m wondering if it’s a clearance light on the cab or sunroof drain not hooked up? Really not looking forward to visiting the dealer.

Took mine in for a few minor things and of course most of it could not be duplicated and no service bulletins or anything were available.

1. A/C blows warm for about 5 min after start up (most of the time)
2. Hood shakes/vibrates on the highway (they noticed this too!)
3. DEF use seems excessive.

my experience is similar. a/c is reported to be fine. they are looking at another few things but I have little faith on it. I dropped it off at the appt. time last monday. ordered a trailer brake controller to be installed as well. that delivered the Friday prior. called thursday afternoon as I had not heard anything. wrong part delivered for the trailer brake. wasn't sure when it would be in. service guy didn't have a tracking number. was told the "tech" assigned to my truck was leaving early so they weren't really sure when I would get my truck back, possibly tuesday of next week. they still need to get it aligned, check the seat spring, and check the dash rattle.

this kind of half effort crap makes me appreciate having a full shop and not having to deal with new car warranty issues. so unorganized. anyway....

good luck

I had a similar problem with a car, turned out that the windshield infant of the sensor had to be cleaned, I had smashed bug residue infant of the sensor and it sensed the blockage. This may not be the cause in your case but give it a try and see if it fixes it.

spell check, ugh windshield infront of the sensor

well, I was hoping that I would never post anything on this thread, but I have one:

the truck is a 2019 3500 Long Horn with the 6.7

over the past few weeks I've noticed that driving straight ( not turning the wheel ) on a smooth road ( highway ) with the air on, I hear a " hum " under the hood with a small high pitch vib on the steering wheel driving 70-75 mph. It's intermittent. last night under the same setting I decided to turn the air off, and it stopped.

it's noticeable, and will plan a trip to the dealer. Anyone else

that's on my "to check" list while my truck is at the dealer. I have that same type of sound and feel in the steering, occasionally.

I've had this same problem on 2 other rams (4th gen). For me it was a very specific type of rain but never when driving. Once I would drive away and brake the water would come in at the grab handle. This was on a 1500 and 3500.... always after a heavy rain, never whilst driving or in a car wash, always at the driver A-pillar handle. My thought was it was coming from the seal where the roof meets the door frame

Nice to hear this problem continues

I've heard/seen lots of issues with the clearance lights on several gens...

I had a good bit of condensation in my 2018 clearance lights, but my 2019 it tight and dry.

Hi jakebrake,

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing this, I certainly understand why it would be concerning. If you are in need of any additional assistance as you work with your dealer, please do not hesitate to let us know. Our team is just a private message away and always happy to assist.

My fill line for DEF pushes down through the mounting surface of the filler compartment each time I fill up with DEF at the truck stop. I have to fish it back up into the filler compartment and hold it with my fingers while I put the cap back on. It is a total pain. I have to take it in to get fixed.

I am having exact same issue with blue tooth. If I turn bluetooth off and back on it reconnects and works for a few more minutes before it does it again.
So, I'm at 2000 miles on my Limited and here are the few minor issues ive noticed.....
1. When I first start the truck, the a/c blows lukewarm air for about 3-4 min and then stays cold.
2. My backup sensors go off every time I back up when there is no object behind me.
3. My wiper blades shake when going across the windshield, almost like too much pressure on them or they're the wrong blade, im not sure, never seen this before.
4. when talking on my phone via bluetooth, after about 20 min, the person im talking to can no longer hear me. This has happened multiple times and does not happen in my Toyota Camry when using the bluetooth in there.

My 3 week old, 2019 2500 Gasser has a noise when hitting sharp bumps. It seems to occur with the right rear tire. With windows closed, the sound appears to be on the passenger side, rear seat area and makes a clunking sound. But if I have the rear sliding window open, it sounds like it’s coming from under the bed and is a metallic clatter or rattle.

Anyone had this specific sound and had the dealer deal with it?

I’ve read in another forum of a somewhat similar scenario and sound, that wound up being bad cab mounts. And it took multiple trips to the dealer by the owner and was discovered that there’s a bad batch of mounts (after replacing more than once, only to find same problem with new mounts). Final fix was engineers sending mounts actually tested on another vehicle.

finally got my truck back after 11 days. they did seem to install the trailer brake controller / module. will see if it works
when i pull a trailer this wknd. honestly, this is why dealership service sucketh. i'd have to take time off work and drive
the "tech" around to point out the issues. if you're not there, it's going to be a CND. i'm just glad to have my truck
back. i'll deal with the issues below some other time.

1. the power steering makes a high pitched squeaking sound when turning left. - could not replicate
2. the front driver door hinge seems loose. compared to the other doors, there is very little catch in the hinge. - adjusted
3. rattling noise coming out of the center of the dash upon start up. - normal cold start engine vibrations LMAO
4. changing gears ( d to r, or r to d ) seems really clunky, kind of like rpm's are too high. i make sure to come to a complete stop
before changing, but doesn't help much. - normal operation with exhaust brake engaged
5. a/c sucketh. especially in the texas heat. - normal operation LMAO
6. front driver seat squeaks and pops. i'm 6ft and about 180lbs, so i don't think i'm breaking the seat. - could not replicate
7. general rattling and clanging at idle. this may just be a side product of how quiet the engine is overall, so any nuanced noises
may just seem amplified. - normal operation

Hi TomApple,

Please let us know via private message if you decide to address this with your local Ram dealer. We would be more than happy to have this documented and connect you with a case specialist who can serve as your advocate while the truck is in service.
