Anybody Have Any Issues with the new HD's yet?

So far:

Cruise control intermittently will not activate - waiting on replacement parts.
Water leak in cab - most likely due to bed/center light leaking - appt at dealer to correct
"seems like" excessive DEF consumption. Currently used 6 gal in about 1700 miles. Probably about 25% of that pulling a medium load.

'20 2500 6.7 Crew SWB 4WD
 
Okay, so I took the truck in and spoke with the service rep. He tells me this is normal on all Ram trucks, just come that way. I told him just check it out and see if the mechanics can find two cables the same length. About an hour later my truck is finished. Service rep tells me it's better, but still has a slight sag on one side. He said I could contact Ram care as he agrees the cables shouldn't be like this, but they are.
The sag is ever so slight on the driver side tailgate cable and I can live with it. Went from a 1/4" difference down to less than 1/8" difference. My original concern was metal fatigue on the tailgate due to being aluminum.
I may give Ram Care a call or use my recent contact that resolved my last issue. Not sure yet.

2019 2500 limited with Cummins, I’ve been having a few problems but the most recent is water leaking from the left rear roof speaker. The service from the dealership is a joke so much so that with only 13,000km I’m trading it in. This is my second new ram that I’ve ever purchased and my last. I love the truck but way to many quality issues.
 
16000 miles no issues. News for you any vehicle you look to purchase is going to be the same both Chevy and Ford have all similar issues.
I have a Chevy Silverdale work truck two years old been in the shop multiple times from bad water pump to belts breaking and transmission issues.

Have to say that I totally disagree with you on that one. I've had 3 Hondas I bought brand new over the past 15 years. I'm waiting on the first problem from any of them. Bought a new MB in 2008. Did not have a single issue. Not one.

As for trucks, it all depends. I bought a new Silverado in 2000. It was without a doubt the very worst vehicle I've ever owned - and that goes a long way given that I bought a new Chevy Lumina (with all of the notorious rear brake issues) in 1990. By 2003, that Silverado had all the brake lines catastrophically rust through, the fuel lines go bad, holes in the frame, the transmission failed, backing plates, universal joints, and that's just what I recall off the top of my head. It was a fully laid out LT (at the time). I ended up selling it for $4000.

So, I'd say there's a LOT of variation. In my case, I'm most concerned with the fact that after 2 decades Dodge still can't seem to keep water out of the darned cab. That the dealer uses a third party because it happens so much. And secondarily, I'm concerned with the rate I'm consuming DEF - which is about twice as high as predicted.
 
I’ve been a licensed automotive technician for over 25 years - ram got me on the interior tech, and Cummins, Water leak was the deciding factor for the trade. Like I said love the truck and I’m disappointed to let it go but I’m more disappointed in ram for there poor quality. Good luck to everyone .

I am thinking a good used kenworth is the way to go........
 
I've owned all three major brands mostly diesels and they've all had their annoying issues, except for my wives Honda's and Acura's which seemed to be pretty trouble free.
I've owned my 2020 Ram for only a couple months, 2700 miles and no mechanical issues. My only complaints so far are the rear passenger side window fit/rubber seal coming out of the upper corner channel and an annoying dash rattle. I've pretty much stopped the rattle with some small pieces of rubber foam squished between the plastic center dash bezel. I'm not in a rush to visit the dealer on the window fitment and the rubber seal seems to be staying put for now.
Time will tell but for now I'm fairly happy and I'm very picky and anal guy.

Hey, my 2018 did the same thing. They replaced the switch. My mechanic(the reason I'm a Ram guy) told me people get too loose with the cleaning/shine products and it gets into the switch and makes it act like a Ford...

Well, in our case it happened with less than 1000 miles on the truck, never cleaned, no shine, no nothing.
 
Longtime lurker here that really doesn't post much. I just have to say this happens to all of the big 3. I'm in a '19 F250 that has had oil leaks and a sunroof that it's been in the shop twice for, less that 45k on the truck. Prior to it I had a '17 GMC 2500 that was in the shop for SEVEN times in less than two years for cooling system issues.

RAM is no different, they all have issues and it really just depends on how hungover the plant worker was that day.....

I agree with this. The issue isn't whether the Ram has more or less quality control than Ford or GM. It's to me, why all 3 after all this time still can't match the quality control of Honda or Toyota for example. And you can't just say it's because Honda caters to less "complex". Lexus is just a Toyota, so they've figured out how to deliver more consistent products across their product line. My dad was a long time GM UAW employee. He can recall a general manager asking the union leaders why they couldn't build a car with the reliability of a Camry. The union leaders answered that they could - when GM engineering and accounting could deliver the design and materials for a Camry. Not defending the union or anything - nor criticizing. Just that I've owned them all, and have seen extraordinarily consistent results. If Toyota ever started building a heavy 3/4 or 1 ton truck with a drivetrain like a Cummins or Dmax, Detroit would be in big trouble.
 
Toyota Tundra has had it share of issues like the failure of the air induction pump with a cost of 4000 , Premature transmission failure was another huge problem also knocking in the pistons back . the worst year for Tundra was 07 and 2012. I do feel that they have come a long way now with a good truck in the running. I would love to see Toyota come out with a diesel pickup. The Toyota 4Runner is a awesome 4x4 also.

I have plenty of friends with Tacomas, Tundras, Camrys and RAV4s. Nobody is immune from problems. However, Toyota has (like Honda) been far and away more trouble free than any of the Detroit offerings. My dad worked for GM 42 years. He will now only buy Honda. I could not even begin to tell you of all the issues with my '00 Silverado. It was literally a POS. My '04 Ram was great for what it was - I've said before - I called it a "great drivetrain" - surrounded by a POS. Lol. I'm hoping that the '20 does better, but the first 1700 miles have not made me comfortable - that's for sure.
 
I feel your frustration and when you spend that kind of $$$$ you should not have to deal with **** like this. when we buy cars we always buy Toyota we owned many Tacoma's and sold them at 280000 miles all trouble free. we now or I should say the wife now owns a 2015 4Runner with 155000 miles and never had any issue with it at all.
