New guy here, Army, Fire, Police, and long time John Deere heavy equipment mechanic background.
I'm hoping to learn more about these rigs now that I have one. I am a long time enthusiast of 2nd gen dodge's, worked on a ton of them and venture to say I know just about everything there is to know about them. I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 3500 6spd single wheel - around 600hp down from its race days of 800hp. That said I am entering a new world and I'm a complete newb with these 5th gen's!!
I just got this 2019 Ram 2500 Tradesman CC SB 4x4 (only 15k miles! literal barn find)
My 2nd gen self wants to delete and make a fun-daily rig but realize rules and all the mess that goes with it, so I'll leave it at that. Maybe someday soon this will change for the better in the states (overall)
So I have just been reading tons over the past week trying to make sense of things.
A few things to get started I'd like to do/add:
-remote start
-led headlights
-led fog lights and new switch
-integrate led bed lights
-remote start
-aux switches

I've gathered I need Alpha OBD2 software on laptop or android, unsure on what exact hardware** to pair with, to to start
I have a few tabs bookmarked with what seems to be cut and dry info, but please bare with the old but new guy as Ill prolly still need to ask info on what has undoubtably been covered but cant find.

Thanks, Stanley

Welcome! I cut my teeth on 2nd gens as well. Plenty of Friday nights wrenching and loved truck pulling, Dyno days, test n tune etc. most I ever made out of my 12v was 618hp and I forget the torque.

Welcome! Good to see another 2nd Gen owner. I also miss those days of working on mine. When I was finished it was a serious tow rig, but these new 4.5 Gens are worlds more capable all-around rigs.
And I see in your Tradesman mod list you plan on adding Aux switches. I have the Auxiliary Switches (upfitters) conversion kit w/instructions that I picked up but never installed as I sold the truck. Let me know if you're interested.
