One of my use cases for this truck will be truck bed camping in the 8 ft bed. Most tents require that you tie them down over the wheel wells, so I'm thinking either way I'm going to want some level of PPF strategically on the rear bed. Torn, cause at that point the Diamond Black will be protected from the issues most seem to point to.
Attached is a pic of my 2014 3500 just before I traded it in back in the end of march with over 180K miles on it. Nine years of New England harsh weather, lots of time on snow salt covered roads (I work in the snow sport industry during the winter) and riding on the beach in the Outer Banks in the summer. Never had PPF or ceramic coating (don't think it existed back then). The black held up fine, always got huge complements including my dealer...would of been even better with PPF.
If Black is really what you want I would just go for it otherwise you will be second guessing you decision the whole time you have your new truck.
