2019 just turned 10,000 haven't used any additives yet and no issues. Its funny you guys mention engine break in I noticed my fuel millage getting a little better and my engine seems a little louder in a good way then when I first bought it.

2020 RAM 3500 HO. 19K so far so good. Wonder how long this thread will last before the powers delete it too?

If i recall there was 2 threads running about the CP4. One was getting off the rails and was locked and the other was active. I would check back once a week to see if RAMCARES responded but can now only find the locked thread. I must have scrolled thru what seemed like 100+ threads and can't find the active post about the CP4. ?

2020 2500 not quite a year old 24xxx miles
Hot shot secret EDT every fill up

2020 2500 with 16k miles. CP4 went out at a little under 12k miles. Didnt use any additives previously but use Hot Shots EDT in every tank now after CP4 replacement. Its in the back of my mind whether it'll nuke again everytime I tow my trailer now :(

There were no CP4 threads deleted.

Bocephus started a new thread, that was made a sticky in the diesel sub-forum, just for RamCares to respond to the "Service Solution" which is now dead since NHTSA opened up an investigation.

Ramcares responded the same via PM. No Comment due to the open investigation.

2020 3500 h.o. newest version of cp4, 52k miles. just bought it so no idea if additives were used by previous owner, I will be using hotshots.

'19 with 33xxx miles, bought it with 14xxx and have used HSS EDT and LX4 since I bought it. No issues yet. I was just talking to my wife about it this morning, now that we are nearing the end of the warranty, do we just roll with it?, Do the CP3 conversion?, Or see about getting a '21 or'22? Just rolling with it could be the cheapest or most expensive option . I just happened to time the market about perfect when I bought it and now I've been offered about$15000 more than I paid but the next one will come with a steep premium as well. What are you guys paying to get a conversion done?

That's a tough call because your near the end of warranty. My dealer told me the pump falls under powertrain warranty 5 year or 100, 000 miles but not injectors or other related parts. Because I have 10k on mine I still have 1.5 years left of basic warranty I'm going to hold out and see what happens then ill do conversion with the no tune if nothing is done about this. It depends how much you owe on your truck too. If you have a lot paid off probably a lot cheaper to do conversion than buying a brand new truck.

So if the CP4 gives out, sends metal down the fuel lines injectors etc, the injectors are NOT covered after how many miles?

They would have to be covered because a warrantied part caused the failure even then i have never heard of injectors not being covered in the powertrain warranty as they are a powertrain part

When I bought my truck I specifically asked about coverage on the injectors and they told me 3 years or 36k.

I’m going to ask them again when my truck goes in cuz if this is the case I’m going to wait longer on a cp3 conversation. Good to know!!
The above post had me looking at new trucks today. My 2020 is worth more then I paid so it might be a bye bye soon. Saw a 2022 RAM that had what I need..

Hi,
Ram has issued a new Recall (Y78), for 2019-2020 heavy duty trucks. The remedy is a new High Pressure Fuel Pump along with a Powertrain Control Module software update. Once the necessary parts are available, we'll sure to follow up with additional information.
