I have 2019 Ram 3500 I Bought new 2 months ago and have been having this problem since the day I bought it. Karl Malone Dealership in Heber UT is worthless!!! I started a claim with Ram and have had nothing but the run around!! The care center offered me 3 free oil changes for the trouble I’ve been through. I told them I didn’t want the oil changes, I wanted my truck fixed!! The closed the case 2 days later. What a bunch of idiots! I re-opened the case 2 days ago and I’m being told that Ram doesn’t have a fix for the surging problems yet. WTF?? Any advise guys?? It’s so annoying to drive!Well I got my truck back from the dealer for the second time. They did a delete and re-learn process. Still doing the surging and now bucking in-between shifting. I talked to a guy at the regional RAM customer service center and was told it is a problem on every 2019 2500 & 3500. Ram has released a new update the the program but it has not been approved by the EPA (government? This could take a while..) We shall see if it does the trick.

I’m not sure if I did it right, if not send me a message.

Yes I have a new 2019n ram 3500 that is doing the same thing. It gets worse the higher you go in altitude. I have the 6.7 HO cummins with the Aisin transmission.transmisson is kind of doing a constant jerking motion when applying steady light throttle going up a little hill.
it occur at 40 to 50mph in 5 and 6th tc lock .
dealers says its because grid heater draw amp while running down the road and that everything was ok but i found that grid heater stop working at about 15-20mph so doesnt make sense!
did my reaserch and everything that i found was about 99 to 03 2ndgen was doing the exact same thing .
there wasnt alot of solution because the probleme seem to be an ``electrical ghost``that trigger somthing in the trans valvebody that make TC lock and unlock as i understand , So the remedy was 1st change battery 2nd check ground 3rd your ****ed lol.
since then is there any of you that have this jerking motion and found a solution ? and am i the only one having this?
Apparently I am not alone with this surging issue in the Ram 3500. It seems that I have had my truck in the shop more than I have had it in my possession! New 2019 Ram 3500 limited, is having slight surging, jerking problems at low altitude in about 3-5 gear, Then it increases with altitude severely to the point that its dangerous. Just got back from my first, (and possibly last trip with this truck)!
The higher you go the worse it gets. You certainly can't tow a trailer with it, and expect to get anywhere. Who ever heard of having a one ton truck that won't tow!!! Judging from all the frustration out there on this issue, and what I just went through, I'm seeing the words class-action flashing before my eyes! These trucks are not safe in this condition, and the dealers I have had to contend with are a real bad JOKE! I've had to replace a rear Window that was installed incorrectly at the factory, replace a four wheel drive switch (on back order), passenger side retractable side step motor, now the drivers side is making the same noise, the back door is beginning to make grinding noise when you open, and close it. The rear bumper lights keep falling out, the rear bed light wire harness fell out, and that was some how not covered under warranty, and my cost!! Now the dealer is telling me there is an update on the transmission... well I don't have high hopes for this fix.. any responses would be appreciated thanks.
Well buddy, I'm not going away!! This is getting resolved in one way or another! I went with Ram over GM for several reasons, and now to experience this... NO WAY. if people are, and have been experiencing these issues of surging, and power loss since 1999, that is in no way new to the technology! My truck was not under a load, except one adult, one child, and a bed full of luggage and camping stuff, under a tonneau cover, with two bikes! Stay in touch as much as possible, this needs to get fixed, they have an obvious issue! ThanksMy truck has been in the shop 6 times. My stealership says Ram doesn't have a fix for the surging under a load yet. And mine also shutters when shifting from 1st into 2nd usually 2-5 times a day. The stealership keeps telling me they've fixed it but they haven't. I've not heard anything back from Ram. I filed a claim and it hasn't gotten me anywhere. Bring on the class action!!! The lemon law here in Utah is pretty much says I can go after Ram because my truck has been in the shop over 4 times with the same issue and hasn't been fixed.
There is a supposed fix, but it didn't fix mine. It only changed the issues from horrible surging, to (at basically sea level- Granbury Texas ) weird shifting, slight surging, hesitating, power loss, MPG loss! Now I am getting 14.3 empty.so I have a 2019 2500 and just got back from a trip to Colorado ( I live in Dallas) and my truck did the jerking thing. I was getting barely 10 psi on the turbo and it would try and kick in which is what the jerking was. My Diesel mechanic says Dodge engineers are aware of the altitude issue and are working on it. It runs perfect now that I'm back in Texas. Hope they get a fix soon!!!
It seems so unreal to me that these companies don’t adequately test their product prior to mass producing and distributing it. I bet you that they could employ a heard of gear heads to max load these things and drive them all over the US for minimum wage just to abuse it and report what happened. I guess they figure they don’t need to cause they have you guys out there doing that job for them for free...

They are not, as per a couple of mechanics that I have talked to. Like I said, they sell the trucks to us in one condition, then change them to fit supposed regulations, then oops something went wrong, and we have to accept it! Unfortunately there is also the lingering unrealized issues, or unintended consequences of tampering with the transmission, and Fuel system. CP4Oddly enough, RAM does a TON of testing in the Rockies, as do all the MFR.
That said, I doubt they're regression testing all the code updates they're throwing around in the same conditions.
