They used to be the leader in electronic steps , bought a set Wednesday got them Yesterday and finished the install this morning and they didn’t work. 1 hr and 45 minutes on hold to have the guy tell me it’s the controller and puts me back on hold to tell me when he can get one and hangs up on me.

I thought screw it will call back one my time and got right thru to a guy that cares. I said Amp used to be the leader in the industry and now it’s terrible. He said RealTruck bought out Amp and moved all production to Mexico. That created more defective parts wrong parts in boxes hence the back order on all parts and the brutal wait times.

So $1800 later I have 2 wires that come up by my seat and when I touch them together the steps come down. The second guy said it was the OBD plug because the steps were working just not getting a signal when the doors opened up. He said they had those in stock so I would get it in a few days.

Moral of the story think twice before buying from real truck.

I got my AMP in 22. They are some stout pieces. My only complaint is in the cold the driver side does not come up all the way. Once you get it sorted I'm sure you'll love them...except in the cold.

I have used Amp for years , moved them personally from one truck to the next on occasion. They always worked flawlessly. So bought this new truck , spend $1799 on the steps and half a day installing them and they don’t work.
Then call Amp and am redirected to RealTruck and was on hold for 1hr and 45 minutes to then be hung up on. I then call RealTruck , get a former tech and he is great.

The disappointing thing is his response was Amp sold to RealTruck and they moved manufacturing to Mexico so bad OR incorrect parts and being produced so right now if your controller goes out under warranty this is your new one for months till they can ship one to you.

I would say buyer beware on RealTruck purchases because they don’t care about quality or customer service . Can’t wait to add this to my Instagram page and Facebook.
