A 'local-ish' shop where I got my cap fabbed this up for a customer...

Interesting. I would think just getting the extensions for the amp steps would have been easier and most likely cheaper.

That hangs really down when closed. Seems like the Amp Powerstep XL would have been the way to go. But glad it works for her.

Not sure why the Aries retractable running boards aren’t more popular. They give you a double step when extended. I’ll take a picture of them tomorrow on my ‘20 power wagon.

I did the install myself. Pretty easy. I am 5’10 and find their height great. I only wish they extended past the cab to assist with bed access. Otherwise I like how they fit and how easy the door functionality works to extend them. I’ve got a master switch from the install kit tucked under the driver’s side that can leave it extended or retracted as well.

I don't know how they installed this but I've got to wonder how durable it's going to be long term, all the leverage it is likely placing on the standard mounting point prob isn't great. I also don't understand how none of the factory options suited this persons need. Not to sound like a jerk but if you struggle that much to get into the cab of your (looks like) factory height truck then I seriously question if you should be driving it. Not out of any ego or anything but I've got to imagine it's hard to see if you're short enough that this amount of customization is a requirement. There may be certain custom circumstances but without knowing it seems excessive.
